I get the point you're making to Freezer about reality and accountability...
But, to be fair, in my own example of piracy- reality and accountability will never coincide. Even if I stopped downloading tomorrow, I will make off with around £30,000 worth of media that I have not paid for and never will pay for. I will never be held accountable for that. Suits me just fine .

No, they're saying "THERE ARE PLENTY OF NUMBERS TO DRUG DEALERS IN HERE. IF YOU SEARCH GOOD ENOUGH, YOU'LL FIND THEM."
well either way, it landed them in court.
its not as legal as the liar made it out to be.

i know that.Freezer7Pro wrote:
No, you see, it is the phone book company telling people that there are drug dealers within. TPB is the phone book comany, not the drug dealers.
not at all.Freezer7Pro wrote:
So you're saying the phone book companies need to track down every possible drug dealer and remove their number from the phone book?
and im still waiting for that point.Parker wrote:
sticking with that analogy...
a phone book is not illegal.
having a persons number in that book is not illegal.
but if that person was like, "HEY I SELL DOPE, CALL 111-111-1111 FOR THE HOOK UP.", that would be illegal...which is basically what these guys are doing.
k.Freezer7Pro wrote:
Even if they make noise about listing the numbers of drug dealers, they also list your number.Parker wrote:
but thats what you just described in your analogy.Freezer7Pro wrote:
It isn't like a drug dealer phone book. There is plenty of legal downloadable content on the site.
there is plenty of illegal content as well....at least, thats what the guys that are trying to imprison them think.

Kay, soooooo, new story/halp request,
Last Friday, there was a Drama festival at our school, and being the theatrical tech whore that I am, I volunteered to help run some lights(and tech the band, which happens to be all my friends).
Half way into the day, one of the other techs decided to invite a (girl) friend of his over, and we hit it off pretty swell.
After the party and everything, we romped around the city for like an hour, and coincidentally enough, her parents were nice enough to give me a ride home. On the way home, I managed to get her number.
Next day, Saturday, I called and invited her to hang out, but she was busy so we agreed on Sunday,
Sunday, we met up at 12:30, and ended up hanging out all day(not doing much, going to various parks, sitting on various benches, talking, etc.), and afterwards I went to her house for dinner.
Now, from body language and all that, it seems that she's totally into me, but apparently she has a tendency to not be aware of exactly how she's looking at somebody, so half the time it seems she's angry at people without even realizing.(Or so she says)
So at this point, I'm confused, it was a Great day and all, and she was totally giving gitty smiles and all, and behaving as if we've been going out for...(well, more than 1 day...) but, literally, as she's doing that, she says that it's just her natural self.
So do I call and ask to hang out this weekend...? Or Do I manage to catch her on Facebook chat...? I don't wanna seem clingy/annoying, but at the same time don't wanna-not-be friends no more.
Halp BF2s.
Lay off, let her contact you. It'll suck and you'll hate doing it but that's what has to be done
im pretty sure the page just randomizes the contestants...cause when i click back and then the link again, everything is in a different order.sexecuti0ner wrote:
I voted, but then the page just seemed to reload with Strawfoot in a different place among the bands. Either this site isn't counting my vote, or I've voted like 20 times.
Hope your friends win.
but thats what you just described in your analogy.Freezer7Pro wrote:

If you do something legal you can still get sued over it. It's a good strategy to drain your opponent of money. So far there have been no convictions. Presumption of innocence and all that
ok then, now it has turned into a "Drug Dealer Phone Book", which would be highly illegal.Freezer7Pro wrote:
This is more like the phone book company writing "We list the numbers of all the drug dealers", and run an ad campaign for it. Still doesn't make it illegal to list the numbers of drug dealers.

What one could debate, like max has been attempting (only to be told he doesn't know law, lmao),
looks like the people in the OP are going to get punished...Jenspm wrote:
is whether or not one can punish people who pirate, download warez, host trackers, etc.
and as i have already stated, this isnt about supporting artists, nor is it about supporting a certain industry.Jenspm wrote:
One could also debate, as has been done a million times, if the music industry has gained or lost money due to piracy, and whether or not their sales would increase if piracy was, say, reduced by 50%.

Howerver, debating piracy-morals is such a waste of time. It always results in people getting up on their moral high-horses thinking they're superior to others, while the rest don't fucking care.

When I bring forward the argument that morals are personal and that the morals of other people have no power in forcing you into a certain behavior, you go on and attack my credibility with a completely unrelated topic instead of sticking to the topic at hand.
