Isn't that kind of taking it too far? There's nothing wrong with not liking parts of the game, but if someone thinks that so much has to be changed before the game is "playable" then why not just find another game? It's a million times more likely that a suitable game exists elsewhere vs. EA/DICE ever making the changes requested.

I swear, half the time I try to use it, it doesn't open. Although that's probably a lie because of course I remember the times it doesn't open...I don't remember the times it does.
Anyway, I know to hit 9, I know to wait until your gun or knife or whatever is put away, and I know if you hit something in midair, your chute will close...but what about those times when you jump of a building, tap 9 fifty times, only to fall 100 feet to your death, right at the feet of an enemy.

Hey look! Spam! Nice. I could be bothered to shoot you in the face.
When playing single player in any game I have no problem with cheats, hell they sure make GTA more fun- but in BF2- or any game where I'm pitted against other people I don't see the point. I'm coming from Ultima Online where I used EasyUO to script just about every aspect of the game except PvP. Fighting monsters- boring, script it. Gotta gather a million ingots- boring, script it. But not PvP.
In BF2 I have gained actual skill, real hand eye coordination. I've learned to use the interface, learned to anticipate moves and develop strategy. I've learned to use the kits better and I've learned how to work in a team. That's what I'm proud of. My medals and ribbons they came naturally. I didn't make it a point to get them. Maybe I'm crazy but I play this game for my own reasons, and using exploits- it just goes against every reason I have.
Yeah, it pisses me off the others use exploits, and I think it's stupid that these kids are so jacked up about 'owning' people when the only skill they have is downloading- but for me it just doesn't make any sense, I can't get my brain around it. I do not see the joy that could come from playing multiplayer with hacks. I don't know- maybe it's something that goes away with puberty; that would explain a lot.
I'm on a single-player kick right now- after last weekend I'd rather kill bots than go online. Fuck 'em.

Same thing happened to me last weekend. Must a new exploit out.
I dig, it's tricky to pull off though, and when the medic is revived he gets your gear, then you're stuck being a medic. I play AT and medic so it's usually not a problem to go from AT to medic, but most people would probably rather stick to the kit they chose while waiting to spawn.

Today sucked.
Server forces me to the side with the fewest players.. so it's always the side that sucks.
Twice I logged into a map with no flags.. two more losses on my record, nothing I could have done about it.
Juding by the number of times I was shot in the head on the first shot by some of the most inaccurate guns in the game I'd say it was a big day for exploiters.
Today was a day of no commanders and newbie commanders. At least 4 times when I used the Team Rose to ask for arty/supplies/uav I got back over the SayAll: "omni where r u". I was the leader of my squad.. and the only member in it as usual.
Everytime I managed to get into a vehicle with someone they apparently didnt know how to make it go FORWARD so I got killed a number of times waiting for Mr. FirstDay to figure out how to navigate a road.
I'm an idiot. I blew up my own team's assests on the swamp map which I never play. I made it up by repairing it all, and retaking the flag three times AND repairing it all 3 more times when it was taken out by the other team. We still lost the round.
The servers that run the maps and sizes I like to play with good connections remained empty. Sometimes I feel like the only guy in VA that plays BF2.
I watched a guy get kick/banned for having fun with me (we were screwing around teamkilling each other) WHEN THE GAME WASNT EVEN GOING- (too few people on the server to start the round).
Apparently it's too much to ask to be left alone to just fly around in a jet on an empty server. I had people switching to my team just to kill me. Again, the round had not started. That's my fault, I should know better than to fly around not bugging anyone on a public server between rounds.. </sarcasm>
The only good thing to come out of this weekend was I got a couple more medals, a new rank&unlock and I got more points. The SpecOps unlock is kind of nice.
Perhaps I should join a clan.

I was just introduced to a song called "Battle Ready" by Otep, my first thought was "this is the perfect tune to play during a high energy bf2 movie".
That is all.
That is all.
Over the past 2 days I've killed 5 hoppers, was killed by 1. The one that killed me did so because I ran out of bullets in mid-fight. Stand still, turn, watch, fire.
First one to the top gets shot in the face. But don't tell them that.
While i don't agree with statpadding, I still can't find a way in which it negatively affects me if someone else pads. It would only matter if they were padding in the round I'm playing and they were on my team in which case they would be about as useful as the rest of the non-teamplaying fuckheads out there.
Yes stat padding is "wrong", but I don't understand the motivation of all the whistle-blowers. Does it make you a better person to point out the subjective wrong doings of strangers?

just drop supplies, even if thhey dont need it, set uav, if they loose they loose, swap teams and command there. they will learn.
as for the basic commander badge, getting forty points isnt to hard. first wait a few rounds, is there some going commander straight up??
if not, get some kills get a small score then hit commander for the last half. give them everything wither they need it or want it.
Sadly I was the last man on the planet to learn that ( your != you're ) and no one else has learned it since. I tried to spread the word but I got shit on by the vocabulary rebels. I was compared to Germans who murdered millions of innocent people during World War II. I was shut down. Now I wander the Earth trying to forget the truth, longing to live in ignorance, wishing, praying, that somehow- someway, "your" could mean "you're". If I had a gun I'd end this pointless life.

As for the fellow who said he only got 5 points for being a commander. DUDE what are you doing wrong? I've never had that terrible a round as a commander. I'm commonly around 30 points IAR before the 2x.
I made it up on the next map though, I played medic and supported a house full of snipers. I got the gold star for that one, we lost, but I beat out the commander on the other team even after his x2.
I never want to be commander, ever. But I still do it when my team has none. Last night I busted my ass as commander, only got 5 points, kept the UAVs rolling, arty going, spotting, everything, worked my ass off- and what did I get? A loss and a mutiny.

Oh absoutly. As long as it won't get my killed I take the time to say thanks. I hope that the players that do support me and don't get a "Thanks" understand. Many times though I get revived under fire and have to jump back into action immediatly.atlvolunteer wrote:

beeng, if I see you, I'll heal you.
Medics can see the lifebars of teammates if they dont have full health. Either that kid didn't know what to do (new player) or was involved in something else. Since medics get points for healing it's hard to imagine he ignored you on purpose.

/me hands over respect to anyone who can finish a round 22/8 as infantry using the PKM sans exploits.
You made him TK! lol
Then please to ask EA/DICE.
What's the point in even bringing it up? Yeah, it's padding. What am I, or anyone else here, supposed to do about it?
Have you been commander for 25 minutes in a round since receiving your basic commander and going over 1k commander points?
Yeah, I like that. In line with "Fair Weather Friend". Weekend warriors... 14.28% of the skill of a normal noob.

You can't say what this game is "supposed" to be, only what it is, and what you wish it was. You didn't invent the game, you didn't develop it. All you did was buy a copy, you're no more an authority on the game than anyone else- myself included.Shahter wrote:
yeah, yeah, i see your point here. it IS perfectly legal to be jumping around like an idiot and do other massacre things (untill it's declared an exploit or smthng by ea at least). speaking this way - spawn camping is legal too... and staying on the runway in front of a jet taking off is "a part of the game"... and nade launchers... all these things are ABSOLUTELY legal - and if you look through the thread you'll see that nobody actually said that bunny-hopping is not.
what my point was is this: i'm just speaking of the way to improve the game as i think it should be. pure fps games of reflexes and quick fingers suxxors and must rip already (imho, imho, don't bash me tnx). it's the teamplay and co-operation that needs to be the diciding factor of who wins in bf2 and the sense of realism is what makes this game even better (for me and as i see for a lot of other ppl too). i simply don't want to see those jumping clowns - they don't belong there - as well as i don't wish to specifically adjust to their ugly way of playing. not that i can't if i have to, but there are q3 and ut2k4 out there why the hell making bf2 like those when it could be so much more?
anyway, i have actually been playing on some clan servers (can't remember which, duh) where admins would kick for bunny-hopping. and for spawn camping. and for playing lone wolves. and even for doing sh*t ant not following orders. that's the way to go untill ea/dice do something about these things.
all above is just my thoghts on the matter.
have fun.
You don't want to see it- hey that's great, I'm sure the people that hop around don't want to read complaints about it. You can't say they don't "belong" in the game, they have every right to play as you.
Don't get me wrong, I love teamplay, and when I discover that someone else on my team does to I have a blast. I think it would be great if we could all be better team players- I'm donig the best I can.
But back to the topic- none of us can say that the other does not belong as long as we are playing within the programmed rules of the game. I've disconnected from many many many servers and given up points each time because I didn't like the way the other people were playing. I didn't think for a second that I could convince them to play differently, I let them be, it's their right to be happy. I left and found another game, and felt better for doing so. You can rant all day long about how much you hate hopers, but you cannot say they have any more or less right to play than anyone else. We're all in this together.
Fuck Wake. That is a hard fucking map. I got a decent score on the 1 complete round I played, but I busted my ass for an hour to get it. Way too much work. I'm not big on vehicles, and with AA rockets currently nerfed I found it to be a giant pain in the ass. There's only so many times I can get run over by my own teammates before I start punishing. It looks like a small map, but the island is rough and big. Engineers, vehicle players and snipers can cash in on the island, everyone else is fucked.
...and you will always be on the losing team- which would be funny if it wasn't true.lockedon wrote:
