I enjoyed the SP a lot more than I did the MP. MP was fun for the first few hours. But then you realized that you were basically doing the same thing over and over again. Modding the guns you want was cool but that can do only so much. CoD4 and BF2 are two completely different games. Apples to oranges people.

lolz ;p
I know dude, it's rare to see a post from him that doesn't slag off BF2 and jizz over CoD4, lol...although it seems his sig now does it for him
True, they're very different games...and CoD4 is obviously a much younger game too. I think people compare them so much because all the folk who want to play IO found a game that better catered to their tastes. Personally, I couldn't stand the multiplayer of CoD4, although I did enjoy the singleplayer campaign.specialistx2324 wrote:

Last point, your own sig seems to be comparing BF2 to CoD4...
Doubt it. Not everyone is having this 'problem'.Nikola Bathory wrote:

I'm on a 8800GTS and Win XP SP3.
You'll just need to download patches 1.41 and 1.5 to upgrade after installing.
So they're still selling the complete collection for the same price? Dirty bastards...!

If they dive at CQC, they're gifting you a kill; as long as you know how to move you have a 2nd shot on a static target.ROGUEDD wrote:

I've seen people do it plenty of times...they don't go right into deep water, just far enough in to slowly decrease the vehicle's health...it's lame though, do it properly
Seems fine for me
Pistols in BF2 are awesome weapons, highly accurate and no deviation...just learn to line up the sights, then click v.fast while keeping a steady hand and adjusting slightly for kickback. Best thing is beating nUb snipers with a pistol

That map is bad ass, it's too bad servers hardly ever run it.
PB doesn't kick based on what's on your screen, it searches for disallowed software etc.H3RB4L ABU53 wrote:
that's not what PB kicks for video card hack is it?
3rd party site admins such as PBbans may review the screenshots and ban for this though, as it doesn't look very legit.
HBD certainly had one, dunno if it's still up or not.H3RB4L ABU53 wrote:
I'd say Clean Sweep it's a brilliant sniper map played it for the first time in ages couple days ago, but I'd prefer more 24/7 Road Rage servers but it's not in the list, are there any?
There's something about that map I can't stand, it's not bad really, I just never get a good round on it for some reason
Infantry on Great Wall (the only map I can stand IO on...) is awesome, Benelli or pump shotgun VS pronespammers = lol.

German players suck.
I was in another German server and I had the usual experience from what happens on German servers..
The admin was yapping in big thick orange letters his lame rules (in German of course) so I decided to go for it, each time he said something I replied with HEIL HITLER. Then I got banned for Nazism on a German server.. Is this y/n?
I've got banned for being rammed by an admin, putting the blame on me, killing an admin, stealing their jet, blowing up their assets, arguing their rules, etc, etc.
I've yet to see a German server with mature admins. Any out there?
Nice doublethink there.Ioan92 wrote:

Also, because the SF maps are so different, people don't tend to play them all...people leave when the server changes to the night maps/gator for example, so a server with all those maps wouldn't be highly populated unfortunately,Mr.Dooomed wrote:

Yeah, clicking refresh has always done that, just like clicking 'join now' will hang the game
As Guardian said, the green names are favourites, white names are servers you recently played on, red names are offline obviously.
As .soop said, a long favourites list will increase your login time, as the game requests server info for all those on the list when you login.
If you want an easier way to clear/organise your favourites list, go to my documents/battlefield 2/profiles/0001/general.con and open that file in notepad...there's a list of server names at the bottom, that's your favourites/server history; delete the appropriate lines to clear unnecessary entries and get a quicker login to BF2

Dunno if you're serious about that, but SF maps and vanilla/AF/EF maps need to be run in separate server profiles as the game treats SF as a different mod.5H1FTY wrote:

All it would have taken is a few tactical hits in major population centers, and Russia would have been broken.
Perhaps the threat of nukes after seeing Japan get hit would have forced the Russians to backtrack, and given freedom to the occupied areas of Eastern Europe, but I would think we'd still end up in a hostile frontier situation; maybe a more fragile 'peace' than the cold war would have ensued.

There's not really any point trying to reason with them...and as long as people are willing to pay for hacks, people will keep updating them.
Ha, yeah I was into the Offspring when I was younger
I think it would have been a long and bloody fight against the Soviets, possibly leading to nukes being employed in Eastern Europe/USSR as well...I can't see there being a great deal of public support for continuing the war in that way.Turquoise wrote:

Yesterday I was playing on Ghost Town as SAS, we held both 'Upper N/S side' flags, and I was trying to get the Apache up from North side...our tank was sitting on the hill just looking in the direction of the heli spawn, as if he was camping it like Spets do all the time. Meanwhile, our team was getting raped by armour...I told him to go do something useful a few times, he didn't get the message, so I killed him with a couple of rockets and told someone to take the tank and kill people with it.

They've set the radio spamblocker to block your text too, which is quite irritating sometimes after you've spotted a bunch of enemies quickly
A - PB and any anti-hack/anti-virus software is always going to be at least one step behind those who are able to outsmart it.
B - 'pb streaming' just means the server sends PB screenshots of each player to third-party sites like PBbans and Punskbusted, where admins can check them for anything suspicious. That doesn't mean anyone who's hacking will be instantly busted, and there are ways of spoofing PB screenshots anyway, so they don't show up the most advanced hacks.

It's cool to hate, apparently.
Afaik, the Germans were unable to re-arm so overtly following the sanctions of Versailles; specifically, they weren't to be allowed to build a strong surface fleet. The submarines were built in secret, and the Siegfried line was built to mirror the French Maginot line.
I'm not so hot on the politics of it, but Hitler obviously wanted to avoid conflict with Britain and her navy; perhaps he felt he could keep control of mainland Europe without being significantly threatened by the British.
The real counter to his argument is the German invasion of Russia; why would he break the peace-agreement if he didn't want more territory? I think the real answer is that he did want to grab as much land as possible to establish his 1000-year Reich, he just didn't have a clear plan of action on how he would do this, leading to some catastrophic strategic decisions.

Wonder why we have to pay so much for insurance when we're young, huh
Fairly true in most cases, not impossible to do, but certainly requires a lot more effort; most adults don't have the time, dedication and patience to actually stick with learning to play. Kids don't mind learning gradually, whereas adults tend to expect overnight results, and don't like feeling inept.Lai wrote:

For me, I wish I'd stuck with learning to play the piano when I was younger, would be very useful for me now.
Also being a more sociable person, I've only really come out of myself in the past 5 years or so (I'm 23)...wasn't a popular kid in school, and i thought I would always be a loser
Tbh though, I don't dwell on the past and regrets, I just do what I can to improve myself now.
Same can be said of any videogame, surely? Except browser games can be played at work/school/uni etc, so they're worse for productivity I guess
