slow progress, stupid devs, no squads yet, insane premium weapon pricing, wholesale milking of the old franchise, but its refuge if youre a battlefield fan, theres a freshness about it despite a few of the devs not putting the community first, nor really following the battlefield franchise tightly (its on a horrible knife edge of falling into a 'not more CoD pap' with the rotation atm, but theres distant promises of air maps to come)
you can have fun if you accept from the start gold battlefund guns (real cash only) have most of the best stats and any cash you spend is dead and unrecoverable, and they may even nerf the gun later- but there are a few nice silver credit guns, eg aek/m16, usas shotgun- the more you play the more ingame silvers and the better version you can get (base silver weaps cost a few good rounds, elite silver weaps cost half a day of playing)
if you can afford to spend about 20 notes on battlefunds youll get 3 or 4 premium tier weapons (or some other clothing crap if you want) and likely get the same amount of entertainment value in replayability as any other game that cost about that- ie a month maybe...longer is up to you but theres only 4 maps atm and 2 are CQB, 1 more on the way and more planned but its barely out of closed beta a month, its gonna take time
staying a free player means choosing your class carefully, but either way the default free guns are arse and ultimately to have any kind of sustained playtime youll need to play enough to pay for your level of gun, or find the cash for 1 perm gun for your class, perm veteran level weapon are around the minimum buy, which can be done over sms now, then you only need game credits for bandage and adrenaline and thats sustainable with normal round earnings.
so in short- money to burn = tons of fun, or a 20 note investment = good time and enough to fill 2 classes with decent arms, bottom level a 5 or 7 note investment in 1 class for single class specialists, or free completely needs 4 plus hours play a day to support a reasonable main gun and pistol (less if you use the free sidearm)
