EF maps are designed as 32 player maps. I don't know if that's the lag problem or not. I regularly play a coupld of JOLT.UK servers that are 64 player Smokescreen Only maps. They're almost always full. If you're using the in-game browser forget it. Use the X-Fire browser and don't over-do your filters. You'll find boat-loads of EF servers. The maps are great fun, each with their own idiosyncracies I finally talked my best friend into buying the booster pack this weekend after weeks of saying he wouldn't buy it. Now... it's all he wants to play! It's where I spend the majority of my time (until Armored Fury is released!).

The majority of my score came from using a Microsoft Trackball Explorer. It finally, after YEARS of service, broke. I searched, and searched and searched but couldn't find a NEW one to replace it (I'm not trusting my battlefield survival to a used eBay purchase). I finally had to break-down and buy a Logitech G5 or whatever this piece of crap is I'm now using. I don't know how you guys can play with a mouse. I'd kill to have a new Trackball Explorer in my arsenal again.
"Talk" radio
260 point Commander round (45 minutes) that would also give me my Insurgent service ribbon was played Saturday around 2:30PM hasn't shown-up on any of the stat tracking sites or in BFHQ. That being said... the Expert Engineer badge I won on Thursday showed-up Saturday morning when I logged- on to play; around 3:30AM
Received Expert Engineer in-game. It's not in BFHQ. Crap. Thirty-three repair points in the round is going to be difficult to duplicate. Especially since the new EA Terms of Service prohibit "High Point" servers.
Do they refuse to play "Devil's Perch"?
BTW: I'll be glad when the feed is back up so my sig reflects my FOUR shiny, new SF SERVICE RIBBONS! ::smile::

I haven't heard anything from anyone (except Homey at BF2Tracker, which is also certainly down) about what's going on. (Nor was I told the push would happen, thanks guys...) So it's now the weekend and EA folks won't (for certain) be back till monday -- we'll just have to wait it out for now
How do they feel about the commo rose apology, "Damn-it, Sorry"?

I'm no expert, although I do have the Veteran Air Defense badge and Air Defense ribbon...
I know it sounds kind-of smart-assed, but you're going to spend way more than three minutes in the Linebacker or in a Stinger to achieve the required eleven kills. Main thing to remember is... ENJOY YOURSELF!

Is there a way I can break-out how much time in each team, on each map I've played?
I thought it was five hours per army on each map that army plays. If that were, in fact, the case... how do I use the information here (BF2S) to extrapolate how much time in each army and on each map I need to play to fulfill that requirement?
I do "talk" radio. Last year when some ABC-TV affiliates refuesed to air the uncut "Saving Private Ryan" because of the language, the number of people that supported the effort was unbeliveable. I actually had people call and say no one really uses language like that in combat. These people are so removed from reality it scares me.
Valhalla, Hall of the Slain, in Norse mythology is the hall presided over by Odin.
"Thou shalt have no other gods before me".
Anyone else find it funny that the christian has a non-christian tag?
Typical.

Forget everything you know about the EA MP7. Its one of the "fixes" in the patch (announced today - 11 Jan):
"Bug in MP7 fire rate fixed. Ammo count increased and mag count and damage decreased"

I have the "Platinum". Incredible gaming sound.
To me, a very noticable difference from my Audigy 2.
When I play with my friends we sit quietly and I identify sound based movements and react accordingly.
They can't hear what I hear.
That's using an old Midland headset.
Sound from my Creative Inspire 5400 speakers is awesome.
My "issues" are not with the card, but BF2's "support" of it...
First... VOIP.
BF2 mutes the mic so EVERYTIME I want to use VIOP I have to 1) load BF2 2) Find the server I want to play 3) ALT/TAB back to the desk top 4) Load the Creative Audio Counsole 5) Select Mic 6) Un-mute the mic 7) ALT/TAB back to BF2.
Like I said... more an annoyance than anything.
The other thing... the "Platinum" and "Fatal1ty" front panel mic input is useless. You MUST use the mic input on the card (in back of the computer). According to EA/DICE "BF2 does not support secondary mic inputs".
Personally, I wish I would've dropped the extra money for the additional memory on the Fatal1ty model.
That having been said... you can find the cards reasonably priced on eBay.
Spend the money and get one!

Playing GameSpy 5 32 Pub.
Between 1200-1300 CST
He shoots at me and team Kills my buddy to grab the jet we had been flying.
My buddy respawns, the smacktard has the jet backed-up out of the hanger and is making a bee-line to run over me and my buddy. My buddy shoots the jet in self-defence and BAM. He's kicked & banned. I asked who the machine admin/monitor is and he says he's it. He repeatedly took shots at me and one other squad member just because we were in the vicinity of the hanger.

I enjoy the day maps; hate the night maps.
Also... I don't view it as an "expansion pack".
To me, it's a new/different game.

Teargas does count. My stats were cleared for some reason this past weekend for a couple of hours so I played as a pvt with no awards. I LOVE the teargas so I was dropping 'em right and left, not really caring because I knew my "real" rank and stuff would be back eventually. All of a sudden, in the round, I'm receiving badges right and left. First one was... Tactical Support.
I'm in the market for a new mouse.
I'd been using, and having great success with a Microsoft Trackball Explorer.
It broke today and I discovered it's discontinued.
I'been researching the Razer Copperhead and the Logitech G5.
Your thoughts?

Deutsche Fussball Bund will repeat history in 2006!
My first visit to Germany as a student was in 1974, the last time Germany hosted the World Cup.
They won.
I'll be there this year as they host and win again.

I have an 80GB RAID 0 dedicated to the OS, a 320GB RAID 0 for data (BF2 on its own partition) and a 400GB single SATA for the swap file (The rest of the drive has an invisible partition for backup/drive images). This is all housed in a stock Dell Dimension case. It's quite fast. ::smile::
The DAO doesn't have an SF "second tier" unlock.
I had the Jackhammer and unlocked the MP7.
A lot of guys don't like it but I use it quite often.
You can't unlock it unless you've unlocked the Jackhammer.
Think ahead...

I've been playing since July, almost six hundred hours, and mine have NEVER changed.
Good Luck w/ the project.

Actually... I live in Indiana, spoke with a guy in Chicago and the part came from South Bend (Indiana).
The web site only lists off-the-shelf plug 'n chug items. You have to telephone for deeper help.
BTW: Screw the guys that laugh at the Dell set-ups. I dust 'em regularly on-line.

Sorry... should've been more specific. Their web site has a telephone number for ordering. Wade through a couple of automated menus and you'll eventually end-up with a living, breathing, English speaking (for the most part) human being. 7 out-of 10 times they'll be able to help you. I needed a face plate for a floppy drive and was out-of luck. I needed an additional video card fan and it cost me $13 and I had it within 36 hours.
From Dell.
I just noticed in a round of SF that I was listed as a private and just earned my basic Support badge.

I've seen several players with SF "Service" ribbons.
Each of the ribbons they have show FIFTY hours of play.
Could that actually be the performance standard and not five?

I swear I searched before posting this question but I haven't found a definitive answer.
