Maybe my sarcasm detector is broken, but some of these comments are probably part of the reason DICE is less than enthusiastic about making patches.
Seriously, every time they go out of their way to try to make the game better, all they hear are complaints from the players. I'm not saying DICE is perfect, but maybe if we demonstrated a little appreciation for what they do we'd see a reciprocal effect in the way of more frequent, community driven updates.
i think, honest to god, that is the greatest post ive ever seen on the bf2s forums
full of common sense and decency, i plus one you, you deserve it
You both clearly haven't been around long enough to experience all the patches since day one... DICE has had a record of not understanding what a quality patch is and not delivering what they say. Just because 10 people in a beta test team, or none at all for that matter, give the thumbs up doesn't mean it's a representative base of actual gameplay.
It's funny that they say they take cheating seriously and take pride in their work. If this is so then why wasn't this security patch done about a year ago? There were a lot of days there to fix something. It seems like they're doing nothing more than paying a child support payment just to say that they care.
They should have really limited the amount of water.
Most stalemates happen where niether team progresses in Kardkand and it's because of the damn water. Fights between Train and Gatehouse. Someone has to usually swim around the entire stacked army to get a damn flag.
Just look at the water between the mainland and china main in the new map. If usmc captures all the flags except china main, usmc gets an elivated postion with that crane that sticks over the water. Imagie how hard it's going to be for PLA to recover if you're on that side.
Oh my god we're all going to die.. Oh wait that's right we're all going to die anyway...
Old hat, scare tactics to pass non-common sense laws so everyone will feel warm and fuzzy.
We live in a scary time and it's not the "terrorist/guns" that makes it so scary, it's the fact that majority of our population doesn't want the responsiblity to defend one self and other people.. They want to be a victom and change laws instead of dealing with the problem.
I'll second that. The majority of average citizens aren't willing to take up the responsibility. They tend to forget that people on another piece of land want to kill you.
Patch is going to be scraped by the end of winter.

I heard a lot of people (the majority) want 1.2 back, isn't there a way to do it? With servers running 1.2 patch and people having it installed? If people are that desperate? Or does punkbuster or other things not let you?
They sent me that email too, ive sent it to a mate who happens to be a lawyer, apprently we got good cases!
lol
This isn't actually not that far off extreme of a case as you might think. Electronic Arts is obviously doing wrong here by punishing those who are victims of purchasing their product. If you can get with your lawyer and talk to a judge then it might work.
You're going to need very strong evidence of the time when you were away while your account was getting hacked. If you got that then I guess you could go to a claims court? That's if the case doesn't get dismissed by the judge...
Since this is just an entertainment claim you might be looking at having to write up a petition list or a group claim filed against Electronic Arts. Say a thousand or so people would be needed to sign a petition against EA which would contribute towards a mandatory patch for BF2.
Don't expect them to restore your accounts though. Somewhere probably in the installation TOS/EULA EA is probably granted all powers to do whatever they want to your account... I would double check on that to see what they are entitled.
Let me get this right... You want us, the consumer, to pay more to fix an outdated and broken game? Especially after buying the product. I think it's time for you to find a new game where your money would go towards a better publisher.
If I were to have this happen to me or someone else on here, I'm pretty sure that wouldn't change your opinion. Because undoing the infringe freedoms would be countering against the fight against this "Terrorism."
It hasn't happen to me but in all probability, given the Patriot Act, it has already happened and will happen again to an innocent person. What happens to someone when it does? You don't hear about it and it will promptly swept under the rug.
The freedoms are suppose to be kept in place and maintained, not until they are obviously violated. If the Government violated too many freedoms then they would have a problem on their hands. It would only make sense for them to give themselves a little breathing room for their fight on "Terrorism" at the expense of personal freedoms. Still remaining under the radar from the general people.
Here's a question to ask yourself. When will we stop fighting against terrorism? You surely can't eradicate it. When will the sacrificed and squeezed freedoms be renewed back to their original state?
Our Fourth Amendment for starters. Look up FISA Amendments Act of 2008.
no no no. what was taken from YOU? specifically. i want examples of what freedoms were stripped from your personally.
Your laziness humors me... Perhaps I should underline the "Unjustly use of search and seizure" Buffers have been created and initiated to where the government doesn't even need a paper trail or evidence that you were wiretapped nor that they invaded your privacy. In fact they get up to a week now to spy on you as they please. Surely they will always deem their actions necessarily but that's not a guarantee against any kind of form of corruption. To say a Government has a positive absolute for no corruption is a fallacy. With this amendment instated the term "Unjustly use of search and seizure" now can potentially infringe your right of privacy. All in the name of fighting terrorism.
Was that elaborate enough for you for just this one or do I need to make a Theis report with a list of it?
Yea some people don't realize or forget that their alignments of appealing to the audience drastically change over their campaign career. During the primaries they fall to their respective sides and then during the main election run they walk down straight center lines to appeal to the general populous. In the aftermath they fall back to their original political standings/true position. It isn't anything new if you know a little political science.
lol. How did he prevent that, pray tell? What did he do?
Patriot Act, wiretapping, and other such things you liberals cried foul at.
Sorry, you can't bitch at both increasing security and at decreasing liberties. It's either one or the other.
Who decides whether the freedoms that are lost or deteriorated weigh equally to the ideals of security? Shouldn't that be up to the people to determine?
A good amount or Representatives and Senators got hammered by their states for voting for the FISA Amendments Act of 2008. Especially the Democrats.
You'll never fully eradicate racism. Same goes for Terrorism or any kind of "Evil" in this world. You can control it, suppress it, and diminish it, but never destroy it entirely. Plus ignorance and a subconscious instinct can always be twisted and interpreted as racism.
These for example:
Still a pretty big historical step was made yesterday and it will be remembered for a long time.
This is really amusing. The people who are upset are those who are completely lost a grasp of what Obama is offering. Congregated reps, business owners, and the like are scared because all they have been hearing is "Spread the Wealth around" and automatically assume it's a socialist agenda.
Seriously, get off your paranoid ill-informed ass and read up on what Obana is offering. Ten words doesn't entirely summarize what he plans to do in office. These tax changes that have been said over, over, and over again are really going to be no different than what Bill Clinton offered.
Four years from now I 100% guarantee you'll be thinking, "Hey, it wasn't as bad as I thought."
It's called collateral damage when a company bankrupts and people lose jobs. You need to take a step back and look at the whole picture as to why someone would do this. He's implying that when companies unethically climb to the top they will eventually be put in their place and collapse. Economically abusing the general populous due to a lack or unsought regulations is something that should no longer be dismissed.
If you have a problem with this than perhaps you should consult to all the unemployed that lost their jobs due to an upheaval of corruption. Those people that lost their jobs are likely going to be mad at the company that employed them, not the people who called the company out and burned it.
Perhaps instead of being upset with the inquisitor maybe you should focus it on the industry/companies that decided to take advantage of regulating/limiting their resources to the public. Forcing and manipulating supply and demand through natural resources is something that the American Consumer should NOT have to tolerate anymore.
Shit I should have put that down as one of my reasons for signing up.
To get away from the idiocy of civilian life. So what if he doesn't wish to "mingle." If he wishes to let WoW consume his life then that's his choice. He's probably seen a much harder reality in his life than you ever will see so let him live for himself a bit.
Matching to prove you're better than someone is just as trivial as walking up to some stranger, pulling your pants down, and say that your penis is bigger than theirs.
oil is 62 bucks a barrel now... is this part of their record profit plan? Or was it speculators that drove the price through the roof...? the oil companies benefited from the speculation obviously... but i don't think they are in control of pricing... ?
Until we all stop using oil... we will be beholdened to oil companies to a certain degree.....
Do you honestly think oil would keep draining dollars at the high? Oil is about profit, profit, profit. Gas companies have been caught price fixing lots of times. They're just compensating for the economic hardships we're facing. If they didn't they would have investigations and the government hounding on their asses again.
This really isn't any new news... Most people know oil has been running the show. It's a perfect example of what happens when something so big blooms from poor to no regulations.
I was playing in an IO today tearing it up as SpecOps just for some good fun. C4 tossing and tricking people around corners and raping with the m4 and ak74u. I don't like unlocks since I was a comp guy and was trained to not use them. But I appreciate the non-unlocks have to offer. Being curious I checked up on the performance in the wiki. Supposedly the QBZ-97 is way more accurate when in scope and in prone than the G36E. Which was surprising to me. the QBZ97 doesn't pack as much as a punch but I wondered if anyone noticed a real difference?
Once you go comp you'll never really need to touch an unlock again... Personally the m16 is underrated. If you think it sucks then you don't know how to use it.
As for this patch I honesty think no one really cares anymore. The hype for it died and if they were to release people would start slightly caring again, but it would be like whoopie what little tweak did they made, what new map did they add, and what did they break this time...
She's too right wing to win anything and also seems to be quite ignorant, also corruption/power abuse allegations (that were proved) won't help. Like I read in some article, she beats Bush at being Bush. I'd say W is miles better than this woman.
If McCain had chosen someone else then I'm guessing things would be much closer.
I guess if they really wanted they could crack down domestically... Good luck though getting international jurisdiction over an online video game, especially dealing with just account deletion. I don't think Japan nor any other country would do shit if someone outside of the country pulled something off that's so minor.
I think some people have gotten distracted from my original point here. The debate shouldn't really be centring around the morality of a soldier's role versus that of a terrorist; my point was about the mentality of some soldiers who sign up simply because they want "to see some action". My point being that this mentality is as morally detached and 'evil' as that of an extremist who wants to indiscriminately kill 'infidels'.
The reason of the individual soldier does not matter at all. The psycho marine or the brain-washed suicide bomber both were following orders. The fact is that due to their psychotic minds they are perhaps more effective in their killing purpose than the others. The are both equally moraly wrong, but is there any morality in war nowadays?
Started in Season III for CAL Open 8v8 for BF2 moved up to Main but dropped as a reserved player for that comp team. We started a second open team for CAL but it folded. Helped as a reserve for my Main team for season I in TGL and took first. We now actively play in TWL in 8v8, 5v5, and some 2v2/1v1 matches.
Right now I play in our COD4 team for CAL Open and TWL /SD5v5. Both Promod and pam.
On PS3 alone, there are over 3 million accounts. Not even 1 million on BF2.
BF2 on the console is a very different game compared to the PC.
It's shit. Almost as bad a fuel for war... And that game was a crap in a nice looking box.
Where did I comment about BF2: Modern Warfare just out of curiosity? I was comparing the PS3 version of CoD4 against the PC version on BF2. Active (i.e. has points) accounts on CoD4 PS3 are about 3m vs about 1m for PC BF2.. -.~
Well I logically assumed you were comparing console to console instead of one verses overall. If you want to understand why cod4 pulled a larger audience then you should look at what separates it from bf2.
Cod4 got a lot of publicity especially coming off as Game of The Year. Bf2 did not. Cod4 offers an incredible story mode and a multiplayer. Bf2 or the Battlefield series for that matter was intended to only offer a multiplayer. Cod4 has three years worth of technology, if not more ahead, than Bf2 does. Graphics, original game design, physics engine, programed code, etc... Cod4 was designed across the PC and consoles with very little differences. BF2 was originally designed for only the PC and then eventually made into a different/lesser version for PS2. Cod4 packs a lot of resemblance and fundamental gameplay aspects close to that of CSS. Pulling in interest from the competitive and large fan base of that from counterstrike. Bf2 does not, even with the introduced "infantry only" option. This may explain why the competition play is also much larger than bf2 ever was for both CAL and TWL.
Call it overkill but I'm interested in comparing the votes from 2004 to 2008 in my area. Since it's pretty much cut dry republican, I want to see how die hard these dedicated reps are... Especially since education is pretty shoddy in my state.
