Most jet pilots are arrogant - they'll come in nice and low so you can shoot them with your big guns - that normally makes them think twice next time.

The exception being when it's just a full-on spawn-rape. Aint spawning just to die - that mkes no sense at all. If I think I've got a chance of breaking out - I'll go for it, but if I think it's a lost cause, then yes, let me at ''em on the next map.

I'll hold my hand up to Tk-ing people on my team who try and kill me. I'll also admit to killing the occasional dumb commander. I'll give him fair warning tho - i'll tell him first that i'll come get him if he keeps being an idiot & after that he gets 3 attempts to improve. Of course, it's gotta be really really bad in the first place for me to give that warning, but i'm prepared to follow it up & punish me for it if he wants - we'll likely lose without his help anyway, especially if the opposition has a halfway decent commander. Having said that, once he does get tk'd & i make no bones about why i've done it, every one to a man has then commanded their socks off. Amazing what a little encouragement can do for that rogue commander.

Which brings me to the whole idea of military tactics themselves. For this I'll point to one Baden Powell (founder of the boy scouts), who during the Boer war was sent out to take command of a regiment that existed only on paper. Someone (unknown) had been conning the British govt. out of the wages and supplies for them. When Baden turned up all that was left were the uniforms, a lot of empty supply crates, some 11 foot poles (but no heads for the spears), some barbed wire, some fence posts, a few crates of dynamite and straw. He filled the uniforms with straw and slung them o the 11 foot poles to simulate marching men, put all the fence posts out with the wire slung between only some of them and drilled his few men (the guard who had come with hiim) well as to which were wired and were not (a charging horse has little time to look for barbed wire). He then attached some of the barbed wire to crates. Some of the crates were empty, but some contained dynamite that he allowed the enemy to see explode "accidentally" while it was being set.  His orders were to hold the town. It was never attacked except for a few sorties - the enemy was convinced he had a significant force there, despite him only having a few men. Military tactics always adapt to the circumstances.

what they need are admins that can "spectate" as in its like no clip u can zoom around the whole map and see whats goin on

Personally I ALWAYS play to win - right down to that last ticket or second if the round is timed. It doesn't stop me going for awards either - just helps me get deadly in all classes. I got vet combat in all classes and am working on the others. Maybe you are sticking too rigidly to yuor training, but i assure you that there are plenty of us out there who try as hard as they can to win. After all, i wouldn't want a negetive win/loss ratio

um, 7 knife kills isn't hard at all. I managed it without camping anywhere - just running up to people and stabbing them. It's amazing how many panic, if you stay calm, the kill is yours. In fact, it's often my weapon of choice at close quarters, having killed as many as 4 in one spot (the fourth got me with a 'nade as i killed him) as they travelled they thought in relative safety to a flag. Not managed 18 in a round yet, but not really tried hard for it. I'm sure it'll be relatively straightforward.

You're also counting your explosive kills twice - they are listed under both weapon kills and equipment kills. Sry.

Except that this restricts my gameplay in a game that i paid exactly the same price for as any chopper pilot or gunnar.

Will be watching this with interest. I think it's an excellent idea where I can easily see the stats I want. Things like colour schemes and layout are just ephemeral. Shades of grey and other nuetrals work well.

I can't gun - not very well at least. I've read the booklet and practised on non-populated servers. Now I need to practise in a combat situation to improve. How will I do this if (experienced) pilots never let me? I can shoot you down in my tank tho

um, they don't run a (public) BF2 server, so methinks u were looking for something different than I meant, so mayhap some explanation required: They are a clan that operate military tactics. When the whole lot go "Pubbing", it's awesome, although rare as they split into teams for the TWL matches, so tend to go pubbing in those teams as it makes for good practise. The whole thing about arti & hand granades killing the organised team doesn't wash. If it's well organised the squads are seperated and with space between the individuals in the squad, so most you can hope to get that way is 1 or 2 - a few more if you're very lucky.

Think i mightbe doing something wrong - i can't get any stats at all - can only get to the second page of the stats thing & then nothing when i input the PID & hit "get stats". This is using windows IE 1024 x768. As 70% of users worldwide use this, I don't want to hear that IE is pants and I should use FF instead...

An hour later & success at last - no need to sell them on, i have access via the rerieve accounts function using the nick's & the passwords, so if you suffer from this, try that. Off to see what the actual gameplay is like...

The 1.21 patch sucks big time IMHO.

After hours & hours of messing about including 2 long d/loads, multiple re-installs & running without FW protection I've managed to create new accounts, but not access any of my old accounts. They can still be accessed by other's though (with the 1.21 patch), so I would welcome suggestions as to where to offer them for sale (if you think they're worth anything at all, that is).

I tried it & haven't been able to play since. I can't log in to the global server for my character stats even. It's all turned into a bit of a palava too, as I have tried (successfully) to re-install BF2 istelf, but nothing without at least the 1.12 patch - which i now cannot find for download. The absence of this (the 1.12 patch) SEEMS to prevent Special Forces from re-installing, which merely adds to my frustration (& confusion). My only option, apparently is to wait 4hrs+ for the complete 1.21 patch & then hope that works. Prior to the install of the 1.21 incremental update evrything seemed to be fine, apart from the bugs 1.2 caused... um, is it just me, but do i have a right to expect £70 worth of game to work for more than a few months without having to go to all this trouble?
