Yup, I guess I lost because you're just beating around the bush. It's hard for me to take anything you say seriously at this point when you still haven't given me a logical response to my original statement. Oh ya, next time you expect to get any respect, you probably shouldn't quote people and say "drivel" or some shit like that and then continue to beat around the bush so you can avoid the subject. I guess I should learn how to not talk about the subject at hand next time too. So how about them Rangers?

OK, so let me go find all those 100s of hockey articles that were on the internet from 1993 as a source, oh wait...
I'm not acting like a mega hockey fan. I don't know where you came up with this. The fact of the matter is if you would do any research at all or even talk to older hockey fans, you would easily know Daigle was considered "the next one" at the time. It's not my fault I'm just bringing up what was said in the past. And so what if I used several blogs? Like I said before, do you honestly think there's a league of underground writers that are out to torture Daigle and all started a conspiracy to start calling him the next one? No, they're saying he was called the next one because, well, he was called the next one.
I don't care if Tavares is just like Daigle or not. The fact of the matter is everybody's treating him like the messiah to the Islanders and acting as if he's the best thing to happen to the organization since their dynasty in the early 80s. You can't put all your faith in an unproven prospect...
And step off my high horse? All I'm trying to do is knock some sense into your head. You're the one that seems to think being a #1 overall draft pick seems to mean he's already an instant star having never played a professional game. Can he be a star? Yes. Will he be a star? Likely. Is he a star right now? Hell no.

LOL, wow, seriously, can't you just admit you were wrong? All I said was Daigle was considered "the Next One" and all of a sudden you went on an all out attack...
I think you completely missed the point. My point was Daigle was considered the next one and he was a total bust...Poseidon wrote:

LO friggin L. Do you honestly think all these blog writers just decided to make all that up? Yeah, there's actually an underground band of blog writers who decided one day to just start claiming that Daigle was considered "the Next One" just to make him look like a bigger bust. Yeah, that like 70 word wikipedia article has way more credibility than several blogs...Poseidon wrote:
Wow, blogs. Holy fuck, I bow down to you. Your posting of...blogs...clearly has succeeding in taking over Wiki's credibility, which according to thineself is just not holy enough to be taken into account.
Fuck man, you win.
If Tavares ends up being a bust, so be it. I'll take my chances. Tavares is not a cockwash like Daigle was. He's humble, wants to play the game for the sake of playing the game, and loves doing what he does.
Nothing like Daigle.
Next please.
And I never said anything about Tavares being bad or good, I was just agreeing with whoever said don't get your hopes up. Being a #1 overall draft pick doesn't mean much. How many years exactly has the #1 overall pick even been the clear best player in that draft anyway? What about Patrick Stefan? Shit happens and players don't pan out. Just don't rely on them to magically put the team back on track when they aren't proven at all.
Aside from the whole Daigle talk, I'm kind of surprised Avs signed Anderson, they were apparently ready to sign Biron before free agency opened.
OK...Poseidon wrote:

The thing is, he's going to fuck up majorly in Free Agency in about 1 1/2 hours. He always does. He's going to sign someone like Komisarek or Gaborik to a huge contract and waste the cap space he freed up with Gomez.

Its past is littered with No. 1 picks that were supposed to be "the next one," that turned out to be complete and utter failures. Take, for example, 1993 No. 1 overall pick Alexandre Daigle, who, upon being selected by the Ottawa Senators with the top pick was quoted as saying: "I'm glad I got drafted first, because no one remembers number two."
From http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/story/832620.html
...but the Next One almost inevitably has to be Canadian. So it gets handed to players like Alexandre Daigle, who was the NHL's No. 1 pick in 1993, that wilt under the weight of expectations.

Of course, pre-draft hype and being ordained as "The Next One" mean nothing if the player isn't as good as his headlines. For examples, this probably wasn't the first fan page for Alexandre Daigle -- but it may have been the last.
From http://penguinsexperience.com/2008/12/s … vares.html
Several other players have been called "The Next One" and have not taken the league by storm (Eric Lindros and especially Alexandre Daigle come to mind.)
From http://allhockeyallthetime.blogspot.com … undup.html
You know who else has been labeled "The Next One?" Eric Lindros and Alexandre Daigle, for heaven's sake.
I could easily go on but I have to get going. The fact of the matter is just because so many people were wrong about Daigle doesn't mean they can pretend like they never called him "The Next One." Like I said, go talk to any hockey fan from the early 90s because you clearly aren't one. They will all tell you that Daigle was considered "The Next One." Just because you didn't follow hockey back then or ever apparently never even research it, doesn't mean you're right...From http://urbaneblog.wordpress.com/2008/08 … rt-3-of-3/
Not an Alexander Daigle “he might be the next one”
Pfft, the Rangers won that deal so much it's not even funny. OK, that's not true, as a Boston fan I find it hilarious. Higgin's had an off year but he's a pretty good player. McDonagh was probably Montreal's best prospect too. Meanwhile New York got rid of Gomez's ridiculous $7.3mil contract for 5 more years. Scott Gomez was basically to the Rangers as Daniel Briere is to Philly and I'm sure the Rangers are glad to get him out of there. Don't be surprised to see Heatley traded to NY or maybe a big name free agent like Hossa or Gaborik.
I actually look on hboards.com and it's funny to see how pissed every single Habs fan are. I think 95% of the people on that site (and it's a very popular hockey site) is laughing at Gainey about that trade. The other 5% are just very very hopeful and optimistic Habs fans. I think they're just in denial and still don't believe it happened.
edit- Just saw Poseidon's post, are you serious? Linking a friggin wikipedia article and telling me to fail harder? Ask any hockey fan from the early 90s. Everybody said Daigle was the next phenom. Oh ya, and if you want a wikipedia article, here you go:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexandre_Daigle
Notice the big "Leading up to the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, Alexandre Daigle was considered a "can't miss" prospect and NHL superstar in waiting. The Senators were even accused of deliberately losing games late in the 1992-93 season in order to guarantee the first overall selection and the right to draft him, which prompted an investigation by the league." in the very beginning of the article... Also his quote was hilarious, "I'm glad I got drafted first, because no one remembers number two." Well I'd like to introduce you to 1993's second overall pick, Chris Pronger.

That's some really good news for Sony in general. Less money on parts for the bigger HD versions and everybody will have backwards compatibility. If the cheaper PS3 has backwards compatibility, it may sell better.
Gran Torino, amazing movie.

I was very disappointed. Where's the fail? I was expecting something like your mom busting in and being mad so she told you that you're moving with your auntie and uncle in Belair. But no! Nothing happens! I wish I could unread that waste of time.
You should carry them around with you and then when people ask if they can "bum a cigarette" off you on the street, you can be a nice guy and give them one.
Yeah, because Alexandre Daigle wasn't considered the "next one..."Poseidon wrote:

Sure, he could be a bust...but the chances of that are slim. He's a natural player.
Yeah, I don't know what Flyers management was thinking with that trade...
I wonder how the crowd would have reacted if they drafted Hedman.
I'm liking Caron for Boston. He'll probably be in the line up in a couple of seasons and be banging everybody up like Lucic.

Her tweet was probably "Taking a nice bath instead of studying for my physics final."
Did you see that trade for Pronger? Anaheim won so much on that trade. Lupul's a solid 2nd line winger and Anaheim really needs secondary scoring. They also get a great prospect defenseman in Sbisa which could play next season and granted he may not be quite there yet, he could likely be a #2-3 guy in a couple of seasons. Then to top it off, they get 2 first round picks? I mean I know Pronger is a huge guy to have on the blue line but they already have major salary cap problems too. Anaheim = huge winners.
Awwww man, looks like Bruins offered Kessel for Kaberle + 7th overall pick. I'd like Kaberle but not so much for this trade. Here's to hoping that Chiarelli packages that #7 pick if that trade goes through for one of the top 2 picks and draft Hedman.
Draft Tavares so Boston can try to trade for #2 and draft Hedman.
Agreeing in principle doesn't mean shit. I remember in the trade deadline in the NHL. The Bruins and Ducks "agreed in principal" to sending Chris Pronger over to Boston. Well, look how that turned out.
He sounded like a pig on an acid trip at the beginning of the video.
And who cares if that was fake? You know you still laughed regardless.

I've used it before to connect to my PS3 and watch TV shows on it. It's pretty cool but most of the videos are kind of low quality so it's not even worth it to watch on my big TV. Looks a lot better on my small monitor. Still pretty cool regardless though.
I talk with my hands which nobody ever complains about but it always pisses me off. I don't know if my hearing is bad but half the time I can never understand what people are saying to me and I ask them to repeat it like 3-4x and they just get pissed at me. All that and spitting which my mom hates me for.
Only recent picture of me playing hockey, at least that I know of:
I'm the one in silver jersey on the right.

Ice hockey twice a week every week all year long. I'll play hackey sack if I ever see somebody else playing at school. I'll also play pretty much anything if asked but nowadays, people don't just play random sports anymore like when I was a kid where we'd play something different every day of the week.
Montreal was already sold to the Montreal brothers. Probably because the organization turned into a mess this year.
And Poseidon, I have a feeling they'll draft Tavares but IMO, they should sign Hedman. He's not nearly as flashy as Tavares but he'll be a great guy to build a team around for a very long time.

I love how Americans say Soccer and then non-Americans say some American sport like Football or Baseball.
You're all overlooking the least sporty of sports! Bowling!!! No other sport does the ball return to you at arm level. Is it that difficult to move 5 feet and roll a ball? There's not even much technique to it.

That's David Hayter (Solid Snake) and I think he'd be perfect.
The guy that does Snake's voice actually kind of looks like Snake too. If he just bulked up a bit, he could even do the acting role and you'll get Snake's true voice in the movie.
I'm not sure about that PS2 hardware. I've seen it on the PSN store but was always told only the models with the bigger hard drives had the parts to run PS2 games in it so I don't get how just getting hardware will make it work when they always said it was the parts in the newer models.
MGS4 is the best of the series too! I let a friend of mine borrow my PS3 just to play through MGS4 because that game is that incredible. I already beat the original NES version but I am still yet to play the second one on MSX, I'll have to download it eventually.
Gamestop has the 1-3 trilogy for $30, I bought it about a year ago. I actually just finally came around to replaying the first one. I'm up to the Hind-d part about to fight the helicopter.
Yeah, you definitely want to keep your stuff covered up, hell keep it under the seat if you can.
As for the window, depends if you can find a cheap place and which window exactly, is it the rear windshield or the rear door window? The door window is going to cost more because it involves taking the door panels off and shit where a rear windshield I think they'd just be able to take out the old one and replace it with a new one relatively easily.

Alright, I'm sorry, I figured companies being around for 15 years that have the resources to make games for all platforms would have the resources to add a multiplayer for one platform. Especially when multiplayer is pretty much a developer's safest bet to fight piracy. I guess they just don't care about losing money from potential PC sales. If they were a smart business, they'd either not release it for PC or make a multiplayer for it. Otherwise, they may as well give out PC copies for free.Poseidon wrote:

Megan Fox has toe thumbs
Why not buy a PS2? It's a lot cheaper and there are so many games available for it.
Or you can just go with older PC games on your laptop. If you want to play TF2, have you ever given Team Fortress Classic a try? It's only $5 and I've been playing it for probably 6-7 years now. I find it to be a lot more entertaining than TF2 and you'll notice how much they changed from classic to 2. Then there's also a ton of other older PC games. Does it have to be brand new games if you're mainly just trying to kill some time?

I'll admit the single player is badass but that's really all their is to the game. Considering it's relatively short, I think I beat it at my friend's in like 5-6 hours, I don't see why so many people love the game.

^^^Lame, it's really a shame. Crosby is such a joke. Maybe if he earned his respect like Messier, Gretzky, Lemieux, Sakic, etc instead of just being the poster boy of the NHL for no real reason, people would like him. But since he gets way too much publicity without earning any respect will make him the #1 target to fan bashing for years to come. Nice going NHL...
A++++ to the league for giving Malkin the Conn Smyth.
Great, now I have to hear it from all the annoying Pittsburgh fans who seem to act like they're the best fans ever even though their fanbase was nearly non-existent a few years ago.

Sleep paralysis is nothing, I've had it like 2 times in my life and both times I just thought to myself, "oh well, sleep paralysis" and just closed my eyes and relaxed. Nothing to worry about.
