Yeah, I think I'm finally going to have to admit the Battlefield series is officially dead to me

BF2042 dropping October 22nd this year:

Honestly haven't found a mainline battlefield game that I've enjoyed since BF2 and the trailer here doesn't really instill much confidence in me. Looks like they're still trying to be a little too flashy and modern for my tastes. Although, if the trailer is to be believed, the map sizes look like they're gonna be huge.

I just wish I could figure out how to make itunes display the album artwork of a song when I click on it like it used to. not the crappy new-ish version which just displays all the artwork all the time.

I've thought about it, but most of the places I buy the cases from also sell cases with the covers so the market is a little saturated.  I'd also be lying if I said this was all my idea; there are guides and websites all over the place with pretty comprehensive instructions on how to do this.

Gents! Behold my latest project; taking my beloved and scattered old game cartridges and giving them custom game cases such as these:




Basically, I buy empty universal game cases online, print out custom sleeves, and boom.  Professional looking cases that protect the games and look amazing on a shelf.

Been many a year since I've created a topic on this site, but you guys have traditionally been the most tech savvy I know.

Basically, I'm attempting to make a timeline that follows the same format as the ones Wikipedia uses for band members like this one for AC/DC:



I'm looking for one that will allow me to show individual bars that are able to start and stop along the same line (like Phil Rudd and Chris Slade in the one above). If anyone knows how to make one like this, preferably in Excel, it would be a great help.

As a life-long Patriots fan, I'm sad to see him go.  Excellent quarterback and seemingly-nice human being overall.  I will honestly miss the Brady-Manning rivalry

After wanting to for a while, I finally purchased the original XCOM. Very fun game, great story, game play, and nice little touches all around.  I will definitely be picking up number 2 pretty soon.

You kidding, I love light assault!  Got one loadout with an smg and flashbangs which is great for flying behind the enemy and messing them up.  And another with smoke grenades, an under barrel smoke grenade launcher,  night vision scope, and drifter jets so i can blind everyone, drop in, and kill them in the confusion.  Or who could forget the C4 dropping from the sky.  Light assault is fun as hell even as is... although I'll never say no to more gadgets

Been playing this game a lot again lately.  It's really just so much better than all the other shooters out there in so many ways.  <3 Planetside

Haha sorry dude, I just play this game way too much.

And the secret to getting anything in to space is stacking huge rockets with modified asparagus staging on the sides. Well, that and adding support wires to just about everything.  I'll be honest though, I normally just wing it and put on a ton of rockets until it looks like it'll launch and try that.

For example:

First stage is all engines firing, detaching the solid rockets when they run out.  On each side, the three large rockets strapped onto the larger rocket in the center are all feeding their fuel into that larger rocket.  So, essentially, all 4 rockets are running off the fuel carried in the three, so...


...when the three run out of fuel and are jettisoned, the two large rockets are still at full fuel.


This ships a fat ass though, so I normally finish the climb with the dedicated ship engines


It's seriously pretty easy once you get it down; it's basically the same modified method that I use on all my ships.

So my new thing has been launching military ships, armed with light torpedoes and heavy missiles, and blowing shit up.  Very very fun, I recommend everyone try it.

Seriously though, space planes aren't too difficult once you've got the basics down.  Especially with the new rapier engines, those make it so easy its borderline cheating.  Love to offer advice if anyone wants it.

Anyone still play Kerbal?

Fun little toy I made today. The SP24 operates like any normal SSTO space plane, but has the added function of the forward cockpit area detaching to be used as a lander on orbital bodies without atmosphere. Following its mission to the surface, the lander can return to orbit, couple with the main body and continue normal atmospheric operations, even landing on the runway at the KSC. I was actually quite impressed with how well it handles and preforms for a plane held together by by a single docking port.







Also built a pretty big docking station around Laythe as a go between for my colony and ships coming from the Kerbin system.  Very fun to play around with, but the frame rate is like 2 fps with all those ships attached haha.

I'm just glad Denver lost

Started playing this again the other day only to find out they apparently just released 1.2 last month with a whole boatload of changes.  Same game, just a whole lot more crap and enemies.

I'm level 25, have a $34,000 two car garage and a $105,000 banshee with all sorts of upgrades.  I've noticed that the early missions were all following the same formula and were fairly basic, but the missions I'm getting are starting to become quite deep and fun.  Especially when done with friends.

I 100% agree.  It's definitely not battlefield, but it's the closest I've felt to the good ole BF2/BF1942 days of old, with it's own added twist.  I've said it before and I still firmly believe this is what Battlefield should have evolved into had it not tried chasing down current trends.  Easily in my top three games of the last couple years.

Just accepted a job flying aerial survey all around the US and Canada. It's my first job as a pilot, I'm quite excited

Online is really messy right now, but the general gameplay/game modes are actually quite fun.  Definitely can see some longevity here

Whenever I start the mission, the helio is in flight, out of reach, and then flies away...

So just messing around last night, i was riding my motorcycle through the countryside to pick up body armor from ammunation in preparation for an attack on the military base. On the way, I came across a guy in just his underwear tied to a lamppost begging for help. Being the upstanding citizen he is, Franklin  graciously untied him and offered to give him a ride home. On the way, I stoped at the ammunation and went inside with the guy to buy my armor. As I'm picking out the armor, though, I heard a bike start up outside and turned around to see the guy was no longer in the store. I ran outside and saw the fucker speeding off on my motorcycle. I say hell no to this bullshit, pull out my sniper rifle and take out his rear tire. I am then rewarded with watching him spin out of control and getting plowed by an oncoming truck.
