Nice on the plasma screen. And the first beer of Christmas day!

LMAO!! Too bad you couldn't double the wrench as a weapon, imagine the screen shots...
I work at an airport in Orange County, CA (No, not Orange County/Santa ana/John Wayne, but not too far from there) which is nice, since I'm a flight instructor.
Used to drive CAT equipment; IT28F, D6, and (I think) a 918LFC. Oh, and a trash truck that had a CAT 3208 engine, if that counts...

T1mbrW0lf , Yes I meant "Can't throw it out" (just edited it).
It's not irresponsible, but it does carry some inherent risks, just like disharging a fire arm or going into a combat zone. You have a 4-7 second fuse, and I should've clarified, it's not three full seconds, but a count to three. You don't even sweep the secondary safety, nor think about grabbing the pin untill you ensure there are no obstructions that would hinder the nades entry. It would be stupid to not check and be stuck holding a grenade just waiting to go boom.
I'm 99% sure this method is, or was, in the SMCT (Soldiers Manual of Common Tasks) or the CTT (Common Task Test). Having lost my SMCT from basic sometime in the last 6 years, I can't provide a scan, and I'm having trouble fidning a quotable internet source. If I find my SMCT or a source I will post in this thread.

T1mbrwOlf, you are incorrect. When breaching an MG nest or bunker with a port hole, you cook off the grenade for 3 seconds before throwing it in, that way they can`t throw it back out. It would be awesome if we could cook off a grenade, maybe even air burst them for the full effect.
C4 with a 8 second fuse and pull detonater (to light the fuse) would be a sweet option. Then the tank is disabled, and let the driver freak out about whether it was on the remote or the time delay.
When I was in basic with the Army, we lett off some calymores. Very loud, Extremely messy within the first 50 meters, and only slightly less so out to 100 meters. I remember the clackers well; plug in wire, remove safety bail, "I see the light, I see the light, I see the light!" Any one who has set one off will probably get that.

Work really hard...
It helps me somewhat, like making yourself the smallest possible target, look around the corner before running around it, reducing your profile (infront of the hill, not on top), single fire and take your time aiming, hitting the enemy where they are the weakest, prioritizing targets, and using squads to your advantage (ie holding a base, advancing the front, etc.).
Not all of it will hold true, since we aren't really ever running short of anything, nor are we cut off from any help at any time.
I'd love to see the Army start teaching the Dolphin Maneuver (Jump, prone in air, land, repeat as necc.)

I remember the good old days in DC when you had the straight shooting stingers. They didn't track, but with a little practice they were damn formidable. One good hit would take out anything flying, just like the real thing.
4 years ARNG (Army National Guard) - two in California ARNG, two in Arizona ARNG. Was a 71L (Administration Specialist) for the two in CA, and an 88M (Wheeled Vehicle Driver) in AZ ( I was driving PLS, similiar to a hemmet, but bigger).
Went to Basic at Ft. Benning, GA (Home of the infantry), and literaaly did most of my training within sight of the jump towers ( I was on Sand Hill). We also had regular interactions in the feild with Rangers in training (They would often be the "enemy" during FTX).

It's amazing how pissed people get when they're getting owned. It's not like you can't see the C4 packs if you just look...
Once upon a time, someone put a search feature for the forums. Use it, or you may find a mod has decided you need to go sleep with the fishes.
Didn't use the search function, did we? It's been discussed about 80 billion times before...
Seen this before. Always cracks me up, especially when they start running. Looks like Gerry's kids with guns...
Thanks for the visual, there, CHuy.
2002 Hyundai Accent GS (Hatchback). The only mods are K&N air filter and GKN platinum fine-wire plugs. Go ahead and laugh, I average about 37 city and 43 hwy (but only with 110 HP And I don't think that's untill somwhere around 5500rpm). Not too bad considering gas here in SoCal is likie $2.90 a gallon.
Oh, and I got some pedal covers so my feet don't slip off while I'm trying to look all cool in my car built for a small Korean businessman (I'm 5'11"and 210).

I would like to see
1. The ability to hit tanks in the underside. Maybe it's just me, but when I aim there with the AT rocket (tank is nose high going over a bump), it just seems to go through the tank
2. The power of the rocket increased. You hit a helo with an at rocket and it'll do more damage than what they do in the game. 2 rockets should definitely take out pretty mutch every helo there.

If it was a real simulation, there would be gyroscopic precession to deal with (when you pitch forward, helo would also roll right (CW) or left (CCW). Opposite is also true), as well as retreating blade stall, coriolis effect, density altitude, CG shift, and a few others
I'm thinking of sticking a BF2S tag on my PID anyways, just so when someone gets owned, they know BF2S was inviloved. LOL.
It would be cool, but it would probably need a lot of work. Plus, they don't even have the physics for the torque down - If you apply power (push W), the helo (doesn't matter wich one) should try to spin opposite the blades. They did in DC, and to tell you the truth it used to drive me batshit crazy trying to fly them. I kinda like the current models they use.
Now, Maybe hit the tail boom/tail rotor and the chopper receives 95% damage? That I could buy. As for the turbines, well, let's argue for now that they're armored and can digest anything thrown into them.

Sticks and Stones.
Thank you Captain Obvious
Berlin and Kursk could be sweet, especially with arty.
Rank is really nothing but a pre-set value placed at specific points, a benchmark if you will. A person with an higher rank is selected over a lower rank because they have more points. If two people with exact same rank, points, etc, then I have no idea how it would go from there.
I agree, it's cool to see people bail and secure the perimeter, and it gives others (non-AT) a chance to defend the flag.
I had the same issue with the good conduct ribbon. Earned it three times in three different servers till it stuck. Wasn't worried about it though, patch made it freaking easy to get
I have to say, it still takes some hits to bring it down, but I notice a lot less people using it for caping, and a lot more for mobile insertion. At least in the hour and a half I played after patching.
Too bad. As they said in Indiana Jones, "you have chosen poorly!" Next time pay a bit more attention.
You will probably be around SSG or GSGt. I got three unlocks so I had to pick the two weapons I didn't need/want right now.
Ok, after the patch I have received on the same day (presumably same time) the Middle East Ribbon and the Far East Ribbon (PRC). My MEC time was around 70 hours, China time was 13 hours
15488 and CPL before patch
15489 got me SGT
15490 got me SSG
15491 Got me Gunnery SGT

"Be nice to French people. Just cos they kick ur ass (and rightly oppose the invasion of iraq)"
Not to get too political, but they didn't do much ass kicking in WW1, WWII, Viet Nam, etc.

I've got 5 speaker surround sound, and it makes a huge difference. Especially when you hear an enemy on the other side of a wall calling for backup, or someone trying to sneak around and knife you in the back.
I gotta say, I don't think lowering the points is such a horrible thing as long as they bring in more ranks. Once I make Sergeant it's a long way to Staff Sgt, and I'll probably burn out before I get it since I don't have endless hours to devote. Not to mention I have to hear about it from the wife after an all night BF2 binge.
I think the Desert Eagle series comes in multiple calibers, not just .50APC
Rotflmao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Naaww! It's from the movie "Airplane!" I'm a flight instructor and we all pull a lot out of that movie for humor, ie the leading character's drinking "problem".
12 cannons, AND controlable cruise missiles? Let's not get crazy. lol.
Big boat fights were a blast, with 12 engineers on deck doing everything they could to keep it floating...

Interesting to see exactly how they counter point farming. I've heard that BHing will be almost worthless, as all vehicles will only enable the driver to get a cap (others must exit vehicle to cap). But I wonder about stat padders who have a buddy throwing grenades and just constantly resupply for hundreds of easy points.
Commander scoring - No more TKs from Artillery
As Nappy-D would say; "Its...it's...it's incredible!"

Why do all the weapons seem to be MEC? I'm guessing for realism. Russian weapons are cheap and not too hard to obtain. Probably why numerous countries (besides those outright supplied by russia or other communist sympathizing countries) use AK-47's, RPG7's, BMPs, etc., instead of more expensive equipment. (don't know if it's true, but I heard a new M-16 costs the US Govmt something like $4k, when an AK-47 is more like $1,800. Plus the AK-47/74 is more raliable and has more power)
Quick history lesson: Afghanistan was Russians Viet Nam, they spent some time there, wich is why when the US went in there, we were facing Russian weapons. There's a country in I think Africa that even uses 2 AK-47's on it's flag.

Gforce 6800
Pentium 4, 2.8Ghz
768mb DDR ram
5 speaker surround sound (nice for tracking aircraft and gunfire)
iiyama 17inch flat screen (wife wanted to use her monitor till it dies, so I'm waiting to get back to my 17" flat panel)
and a microsoft optical trackball (with browser and scroll buttons mapped to knife, pistol, and grenades)
I get those same stutters for about the first 60-120 seconds after starting a map, then nice and smoth depending on lag.

I think n00b did originally start as a shortening of the word noobie (or n00b1e in leet). But then it seemed to change definition to include any anone who plays like a retard, whether on purpose or mistake. A person is ually called a noob when they habitualy and/or continualy make the same mistakes over and over and over (like constantly running into your own teams claymores, shooting your own team mates for a vehicle, etc.) It now connotates a certain level of ignorance and immaturity.
summarily, it's given birth to a couple of other related terms: Noobtard, smacktard, and f*cktard, used in this order depending on the players lack of skill or common sense (ie, look both ways before walking infront of your own tank, then punishing for the TK, or walking into the artillery that is CLEARLY displayed on your map).
Make a little more sense now?

Feel better McCullough?
I've done my share of TKs on smacktards. Usually if someone is dead because they KEEP runing into my mines, line of fire, arty, etc., then I may TK a couple more times to let of steam, then just disconnect from the server before it ends to avoid a horribly low (possibly negative) score.
The TK punish has it's uses. Unfortunately it has far more abuses.

You know, the way the set a date, then promptly breeze right past it...makes you wonder if they're owned by microsoft.
It's not as bad as the smacktards that see the arty ring on the map and decide they can take the flag at the same time, then punish you for the TK. I had like 5 of those n00bs do that to me at once. Had my first negative score in a looooooong time. The only thing I hate worse are bunny hopping n00b tubers.
LMAO, I feel your pain on the free asset destruction.
Like Pinky, I killed everyone that was blue when I was MEC, being a BF1942 vet. Took a while to get used to blue always being my team. Now if I play BF1942 (happens very rarely), I have to remember not to shoot the reds when I am German/Japanese.
My bad, it's a N00b post.
Does any one else have a hard time getting people to understand how to set up a good cross fire, or even some basic suppresing fire? Holy crap! It isn't that hard. Point to where people might be, let off 3-6 shots. Point to somewhere else where people might be, let off 3-6 shots. Repeat as neccesary as squad moves up and around for the flank shots.
I know it's a rant, but it bugs me when we get cut down like bystanders on a Vegas sidewalk when we're trying to advance.
Oh, and a tip for the n00bs, when 10 of you get together for a cap right at the base of the flag, it only takes one grenade or arty round to take you all out. Don't CF. Unless I'm your enemy, then conviently collect yourselves into groups of 8 or more in the nearest clearing.
