I'm using the G5 and I think it's a great mouse. I'm not sure if I can feel the difference between the reaction of a corded mouse or a wireless mouse, but I just get screwed when my wireless mouse runs out of battery. I play at 1400 dpi, then take it to 2000 in vehicles. It seems to work well on all mouse pads. I don't really know much about the leet mousepads that are around. My only gripe with it is that they got rid of the second mouse button on the left side. I used the first one for my parachute and the second one for Teamspeak. I guess I'll just have to use my parachute the old way.

I was wondering, when you get kills in a TOW, Stinger, or other mounted gun of some sort, do those kills go towards a combat badge? I ask this because I was on a server and got 24 kills as Assault. I had about 15 hours 20 minutes logged as Assault (I know because I checked my BFHQ before the round started) and I didn't get the Vet Assault Badge. Would anyone happen to know what the deal is?
Well, find the stats for your account. At the bottom of the page it will have the codes to link to your stats pics.Scratchy wrote:
Im not complaining, but do you know why the updates have gone back to being 7 or 8 hourly?
And also as this is my first post, and there are millions of topics and threads that im not gonna read, can anyone just give me some simple instructions to get the bf2s.com "live stats" pic as a sig., like for example Kobrakai has above.
Couldn't have said it better myself.chuyskywalker wrote:
You could, possibly, play the game because it's fucking fun. Believe me, I am into stats just as much as anyone here (duh), but I don't dote over them all day thinking "woa is me for mine stats are to be less significant due to the niegh release of yonder patch".
I've done it a few times. Since I usually play urban levels, it's usually closer sniping. But yeah, that's awesome that it works. I just need to figure out how far you need to be for it to begin dropping. Also, if you're sniping close, aim for the neck area, because the recoil makes it shoot slightly higher.
Yeah, I have the evga 7800 GTX KO and it's really impressive.
Yeah, that happens too. What happened was, I got the 55 team points and was killed. When I spawned, a few seconds later, I got it without getting any more points at all.Strayfire wrote:
Really? I got it at 60 team points, but I guess it was just a delay in registering...
Alright, I just got it. First of all, it's called the Valorous Merit Ribbon, and I titled the thread wrong. My fault. It was awarded to me on the 55th team point. So, I CONFIRM that UBAR is correct on this Ribbon. If anyone doesn't get it when they should have, you probably should try again because some that just happens.
I dig the way that sounds... Cin... Yeah.Gabriel wrote:

Yeah, Modern Combat doesn't look that enticing. I am, however, going to get and play Special Forces. I think it looks awesome.
Well that would certainly explain it. I did have 72 TEAM points, and I didn't get it. The team points were all kill assists, revives, and healing points. So, I guess I'll give it another try and hopefully it works out. If it doesn't, you're probably right.Stoned_Smurfz wrote:
Actually i dont think just anythin that gives you a team point counts.
such as kill assists dont cause i had the same deal had to get alot more points than it asked.
and im pretty sure capture assists dont count. only an actual capture/defend.
stick to exactly whats listed and you should get it
It's trying to get the expert knife badge AND sucking at the same time. You probably don't suck, and therefore you aren't cool enough to have as many deaths as me..zerOKilled.[ITA] wrote:

* IAR: 55 team points
* Global: 25h Total time as squad member

When it says 55 team points, does that mean 55 team work points, or what?

;P
I was searching around and came accross this: http://www.bf2.se/index.php?m=single&id=399. From what I can see, it looks pretty legit. I've searched around on here and haven't seen this, so forgive me if someone else has already posted this.
Good luck. It's a bitch on a bitch boat to get. It was for me at least.Ghostmaker_o5 wrote:

Thanks for the tips by the way. I tried it on a different server- It did not tell me when I got it, but i waited for the match to be over, logged out and checked my stats and Finally, It appeared... bout FRIKIN TIME!..
all I need is the Explosives badge and I have all bronze badges .. this is a first thing for me.. so
This happened just now. I was running around as MEC in Karkand and a US Noob Tuber ran up and started tubing me. I started to hop around and shoot and so did he. He shot three nades and every one killed one of his own team mates. It was pretty funny.
That happened to me today. It was early in the round on a 64 Karkand server and I sent an arty with two team mates who were slightly close. I had 19 Commander points at the time. I say to my team "ARTY!!! YOU CAN SEE IT ON YOUR MINIMAP!!! RUN!!!" About seven of my team mates ran into the artillery, all died, and my score went to -5. They were an upstanding bunch.polarbearz wrote:
Jackasses who RUN into arty are worse. I hit a remote area of the map where the opponent is massing, some spec ops lone wolves decided it would be fun to spawn-rape or take out opponent commanders assets so they jet or heli in and bail. And I get roundly punished. Wow.
I've joined a server and it said that my rank was private. I just went to a new server and everything was alright.
Ah, so you do get both at once.
Here's another tank whore. Firebird~*DS*~ . I don't know if any of you guys have played with him before, but he's a massive tank/jet whore. Check out his stats:ProDicTeD wrote:

I have absolutely no idea. I got my helicopter badge by sitting in the passenger seat of a cobra for 15 minutes in one round. If you've sat in one for 15 minutes, and you don't get your badge, I don't know what to tell you. All I can tell you is that I've fill the reqs to get a badge before, but I haven't gotten it. Even though you have gotten awards on that server, try another.

My future goal is to be happy until I die.
Okay, everyone is saying that if you make the rifle stronger, things will go bad. Well, what about the noob tube? I mean, I have actually seen someone single handedly kill 5 people with ONE SHOT.
One detail about a .50 cal sniper rifle is that if you shoot one in a small room, the whole room fills with flame. Yeah, the muzzle at the tip of the gun will dim it a little, but I think the flash out of that gun should be way way bigger. That way, with the damage cranked up, if the sniper misses, you have a way better chance of seeing where he is. This would promote relocating and add more complexity to the sniper kit. That gun shouldn't be .50 cal if it doesn't drop any human it hits once. Even if you made head and torso kills instant kills, that would be more suting than surviving a shot that should tear you in two.

Whoa, crazy.
That was incredible. Heh, some funny shit. The end is my fav.
Heh, how else is anyone going to get the War College Ribbon?
I went to a friend's house tonight and played on his account where he had the L8 unlocked. That gun is really cool. I like how the scope works and it wasn't too difficult to snap five or six guys in a row. My only problem with the gun is that it doesn't sound bad-ass enough.
I was talking about infantry soldiers killing in general, not just killing vehicles. Whether it be infantry killing infantry, or infantry killing vehicle. I mean, I was just getting it out there because of what I see happen when people don't step out of their vehicles. I don't know what the situation would be if a vehicle killed a vehicle or an infantry killed a vehicle, I was just spewing.kilroy0097 wrote:
I thought you were saying that when an Infantry unit kills a vehicle that the kill should be worth more due to the difficulty of taking out a vehicle while on foot. Misunderstood.
oooOOOoooOOO you guys make such enticing arguments for both weapons. I just can't choose!
Okay, could someone who has had experience with both of these weapons please tell me which one they prefer and why? I mean, I know one core reason for choosing an upgrade is the kit but I like Spec Ops and Medic equally.
I've read the stats on the L85A1 and the G36C and it seems that the L85A1 is superior. If so, why do I see so many people with the G36C and not that many with the L85A1? Is it the weapon or the kit?

Don't have your Ground Defense Ribbon yet? Well, here's how to get it without breakin' a sweat. (It's an easy ribbon to get overall, but here's a way to get it fast.) Get onto a Karkand 64 player server. Be USMC and when a new round starts spawn at the front right spawn point. Run to the front of the small building there and there's a mounted machine gun. Grab it and just start pickin' people off. I personally got the five kills before I even hit 3 minutes. This is a really fast way to get this ribbon.
P.S. You're kind of a target for snipers and armored vehicles, but otherwise it's pretty quick and simple.

Heh, yeah. You've got to be one shifty little jumping bean to get the knife badges. The best is when you've been knifing all day and you go up to someone with a knife and they whip out theirs. After all that knife practice, you're like WHOTAHHHH!Guruz wrote:
I'm looking for the Vet one, tried in Karkand, and shocked that it's not that easy than you think although you knifed 3 people in the last round's first minutes.
Wait, kills in vehicles are only one point? I was talking about 3:2, but if kills in vehicles are already only one point, then nevermind.kilroy0097 wrote:
If I were to make the points different I wouldn't make Infantry kills any more than 2 points and Vehicle kills more than 1 point. But not 3:1.
Oh man, I know *exactly* what you mean with the noob tube. All you want when you die is to just get revived and keep truckin', but noob tubers just run around a corner, pop out, take out four guys including you and the medic who just revived you, and now you have to wait another 12 seconds. I still don't quite know how that gun is balanced.
Also, you've done way better than I have in the expert knife category. I've gotten 8 knife kills in one round going for that badge.

Do you guys think that when you kill someone in an armored vehicle or helicopter or jet or something, that it should be worth the same as a kill done on foot? I mean, lately I've been seeing people posting up and staying in armored vehicles and such and they just spank everyone. Perhaps a kill on foot should be worth three points?
I don't know, just a thought.
I don't know, just a thought.
Heh, I feel the same way. Anyways, I just got it. I guess sometimes the system just glitches a little bit. I just did it again and I got it right on the seventh kill, so now I'm happy. If you ever meet the reqs for a badge and you don't get it, you're not alone.
Positive. I actually make it a point to only use the weapon I'm getting the badge for. Makes it easier for me to get the kills.
It's not that big of a deal, just upsetting. It's like you do everything you need to but you just don't get it. It doesn't seem fair and what makes it worse is that you can't do anything about it.
I was just playing Strike at Karkand, and I went into the round with 56 pistol kills. I killed 8 people with a pistol in the round, and I didn't get my veteran badge. I know for a fact that this is a valid server because I got both my veteran knife badge and my ground defense ribbon on this server. What happened?

My computer has a decent sound system. Actually, probably worse than decent, but I just got a new pair of headphones (because I play really late at night and I hate having to turn it down for my roomates). Anyways, I got the Turtle Beach Earforce HPA headphones and I have to say they are really impressive. They're 5.1 surround sound and when I play I am actually more aware of what's going on around me. For instance, it's easier for me to locate enemy snipers because I can hear if they're behind me, to the right of me, in front of me, etc. Also, if your sound is set on High or Ultra High, you can hear everything so vividly that if someone is running up behind you or next to you it's really easy to hear them. I've actually caught someone crawling up behind me to knife me because I could hear them.
I know this probably isn't necissary for those of you who have awesome sound systems, but I just thought I'd tell everyone. Also, I haven't tried other brands, so if anyone else has headphones that are really awesome, write about them please.
