LOL!!11!! I just found this thread while doing a search and had to laugh considering the current state of the forum.
That is the hill you have decided to die on huh? Why? So you can make sure you let everyone know that you know what the difference is between a developer and a distributer? Do you really think that is the key piece of information that everyone needs to know in order to end the current debate on the 1.2 patch?[-CGZ-]BioRaveN wrote:
my complaints are about how Fuckers say it is EA, when it is DICE who makes the game and the patches.
No man, I love these threads!!! Some of them are absolutely hilarious, keeps reminding me that I'm playing with teenagers.
Wait until Euro Force comes out. I'm sure the children will find something to whine about concerning it. (I actually do sympathize with those of you out there with no credit card <--- legit gripe as far as I'm concerned)

The best thing about the PKM changes is that now you are never at a loss for ammo on a map, since half the players are using the support kit.

Seriously though, I played vanilla last night for the first time with 1.2. After reading all these posts started by all the pissed off flyboys, I was ready to get my AA action on. Well, guess what, nothing has changed as far as I'm concerned. I still got bombs dropped on my head and missiles up my ass. Yes, I did get to kill a plane or two, but to me it was not worth it, I just continued my ground pounding. The pilots still had the best scores in the game. Granted, they were not the 100-200 point slaughter fests they were probably used to, but they still owned the map.
I am going to be honest with you all, when I found out what the patch was going to do to the AA and jet/helo armor, I actually felt sorry for all the pilots out there. I had visions of choppers and aircraft not even being able to get off the ground. But now after seeing the patch in action, I no longer feel sorry for the pilots out there.
Bottom line is that if you were a good pilot before the patch, you are still a good pilot after the patch. You are going to die a few more times per round than before, and I can understand how that is going to piss you off at first, but you will eventually get used to it. As a ground pounder, I did.
If I'm not mistaken, this only works for Tank shells (i.e. Tank vs Tank battles). Someone correct me if I am mistakenKung Jew wrote:
I thought the money shot was just below the turret on top of the main body. I remember looking at the hit spots on some website. The diagram showed that the shot would bounce into the turret causing increased damage. Possibly even a 1 shot tank kill (a la Achilles heel) 2nd best shot went to the treads and it took 2 and change from another tank to destroy the opposing tank.
I'll search for that website and post the link here when I find it.

Damn bear, how did you do that playing rugby? It looks like you hyper extended your wrist. What position do you play? Big Fat Prop here!! Rugby is the best sport on the planet as far as I'm concerned. Seen a lot of blown knees and broken clavicles but never any torn arm ligaments.
Keep care of that arm my friend, it looks like you will be out of commission for a while.

I actually agree with this admin's philosophy. If I join a server and then cannot move 10 feet without getting a bomb droped on my head or a missle up my ass, I'm leaving. I logged on to have fun, and my idea of fun is not being fodder for a jet or chopper whore. I will give props to the pilots for pinning my team down to the point where we cannot move, but please do not expect me to stick around for long. There are too many other servers out there.[DR2nd]Dr.Smoov wrote:
When I admin my sever, my main goal is to keep it full. This means removing people who cause the game to be less fun for the masses. Usually this is mostlly kicking smacktards, but when someone is raping everyone in a jet round after round to a piont when people are leaving then I might do the same thing. But usually i switch them to the other side, those people when faced with not flying that round or not flying in the jet they want they leave.
That said, I don't think that was what was going on when Slaythem's friend was kicked. He probably killed the admin too many times.
This is how I got my vet explosive badge. It works on Sharqi too. Just plant one at the bottom of the stairway and wait. This does work better on Warlord since there is no ladder to the flag like on Sharqi (ususally forces more people up the stairs). Still, the more experienced enemy will either grabble up or zip line down to the flag if they know you are there with C4, so it helps if you have someone guarding the flag while you take out the guys coming up the stairs.mpec82 wrote:

Can't remember what games PC GAMER had listed as runner-ups. I'll check when I get home. I'm sure that one of the them was F.E.A.R.
Dude airborne, what happened to your sig? I loved that picture.
Just received my copy of PC GAMER the other day and noticed that they awarded BF2 "Game of the Year" and "Best Multiplayer Game" of 2005. To start off: Congrats to EA/DICE!!!
I started playing BF2 back in October, after reading and hearing how great a game it was. Everything I read/heard said the same thing: Great gaming experience, but still a very buggy game. Every review I read gave it their top scores, but still all said it was marred with glitches. Now that the year is over and the awards are going to be showered all over this game, I wanted to pose the question to this community.
Does BF2 deserve to be crowned "Game of the Year?" or do the remaining bugs and glitches which still plague the game make it fall short of this prestigious title?
What say you?
EDIT: If you voted NO, please indicate what game does get your vote for GotY 2005.

What a great point that I think everyone who is complaining about the UAV changes is missing. Having the UAV visible will be a double-edged sword. Sure, the enemy will now be able to shoot it down, but you will also have them distracted by it until it is destroyed. *goes to sharpen knife*khmer wrote:
It'll be fun to knife the enemies who are distracted by the uav.
On the other hand, since the helo is being nurfed, shooting down UAV's may be the only safe thing to do in a helicopter now.

I love the TOW. The most underused weapon in the game IMHO. I spent an entire round killing armor on Mass Destruction with the TOW at the Cooling Station.

Please explain how filtering your server makes you not used to real life. Do you mean that in real life people talk like yourself? Thank God I don't live in Maryland._j5689_ wrote:

Mmmm. . . I guess my subtlety did not work. I was trying to get you to see that they are not 'adding' anything to the game, but are attempting to fix glitches and exploits that, IMHO, should have been caught in beta. Now, if you agree/disagree with those changes is one thing (I am still trying to follow your arguments, you lost me with the Ferrari metaphor), but we should at least admire EA/DICE for addressing these issues. Or not.ProDicTeD wrote:
Just compare it to a car. I buy myself a ferrari. I love it, but the car does dissapoint me some times. (Engine doens't want to start). So i go to the garage and complain about it. Nice they listen to my complaints and decide to give me a free service. Only they don't fix the problem and put in a weaker engine. Which takes a lot of fun away.
The same with BF2, I complain about bunnyhopping they try to fix the problem (don't think what they added will really fix the problem) and they take away "the shock paddles reload when used thing"! Takes away a lot of fun and they didn't really fix anything.
Ouch^^^^^Pwned
