If you can, watch it , it is sometimes cruel to spectate for the audience, but the news may be that too, sometimes.

I watched the first couple of episodes and have to say it didn't do a great deal for me I was hoping for more but i guess censorhip got in the way to a certain extent. I don't wish to demean what the guys and gals "over there" are doing (agree or disagree with the "war" as you see fit, but support the people involved!) but the series to me is a much sanitised version of what is happening in Iraq.
Thats my take anyway.

Yeah but that doesn't take into account USB gamepads, joysticks, keyboard, mouse, wheel, hubs....and so on and so on. 350 is the nare minimum for that spec, i wouldn't run it with anything less than a decent 480WTrobow wrote:

Also, 350W should be enough for the GPU and CPU. CPu takes like 8-10% of the total wattage. While the GPU only takes 4-5%.
Well apparently not, using a new texturing sysyem developed by John romero (called Megatextures) they will be able to create vast expansive playing areas without the need for top end hardware or so I.D. say. That being said i guess you will have to have some beefy hardware to get the best out of the game.-=|BW|=-Hollow_Moon wrote:

Dear god Ryan, where were you when the senses of humour were being handed out? obviously getting an extra helping of sarcasm.
Don't be too sure, I sent an ubusive e-mail to EA dice saying how crap I thought the game was, i got this by way of replyvonSteuben wrote:

So play the game and enjoy it. Or take a break and return to the changed game after taking a deep breath.
Or don't return, because you realized that the game is not entertaining for you any more.

Now i am forced to play BF2, for the sake of the puppy

Inkeeping with the invasion (or liberation depending on your point of view) of Grenada by U.S. forces in 1983. The guys and gals at EA/Dice have taken a step to improve the Baseraping situation, in future when the enemy is pushed back to their uncappable base the opposing force will no longer be able to set foot in their base but will have tro camp outside in Humvees and LAV's and use the following new upcoming weapon in attempt to dislodge the enemy. It is expected to be installed during the 1.21 patch, see what you think.

4: Yes....and then again NO. Baseraping may be part of war but this aint war this is a game. I personally try not to baserape, certainly not with armour or kites especially. I prefer a game where I have an even chance of dying or killing. For the most part when on a side under constant baserape I find another server cos it aint no fun. In the end the server empties and game over for everyone because of the actions of one guy. Then again, what is the answer? In DOD you had spawn points that you could not enter upon pain of death with multiple exit points that the enmy could not camp all of. Difficult to do in BF i know because of the 3rd (arial) dimension to the game, so no easy answer i guess.

In that case you need to connect your drive to IDE channel 1 and make sure any raid options are turned OFF in the Bios. Once your hard disk is detected properly it's worth tring to boot to see what happens. Either you will be greeted with the BSOD or the system will constantly reset. On the other hand you may be lucky and the system will boot ok but require new drivers for the mainboard.[S.P.S]1on1killa wrote:
i connected my harddrive to one of my two IDE channels. my harddrive does not support SERIAL-ATA.
also, i do not have an IDE 0 chanel, only IDE1 and IDE2.
If the system will not boot, go into the BIOS and make sure that the first boot device is set to your cd-rom. Re-boot the system with your Windows XP cd in the drive and the system will ask you to "press any key if you want to boot from the disk" follow the instructions on screen and choose to install windows. From this point you have 2 options, you can attempt a repair of the existing installation, or you can choose to install a new version. NOTE
A) repair does not always work
B) If you choose to install new you will be asked if you want to format your existing partition (NOW THIS BIT IS IMPORTANT) If you choose to format ALL DATA on the drive will be lost, gone, kaput. So do this only if you know you have nothing to lose.
You dont HAVE to format of course you can just choose to leave the file format in place and the system willinstall another copy of windows in a directory called C:\Windows1 once you have done this you can simply delete the old installation of windows.
Hope this helps, and good luck
No you cannot use 1 drive in any kind of Raid mode, u need a minimum of two.
However there seems to be some confusion here, are you connectting to a standard IDE channel or Serial ATA ??
Either way you need to disable any raid options in bios. With some boards they have an extra IDE port that will allow you to set up a raid stripe set, as well as Serial ATA raid.
make sure if you are connecting via an IDE cable that you are connecting to the correct port. It should be labelled as IDE0.

Looking at the mainboard manual it unfortunately does not tell me which ports are the standalone and which are raid On the MSI Neo II board I had there were 2 seperate raid controllers, one which was raid and one which wasn't. Which leads me to believe that all the ports are connected to a single serial ata controller in the southbridge. I would suggest turning OFF or DISABLING any raid options in the Bios (Make sure you don't disable the serial ata ports themselves though)
Ahhhh you have connected a serial ATA disk to the raid controller on your MB. For raid you need at least 2 disks of equal size to create either a mirror or stripe partition. If you look in the manual of your mainboard you may find that there are a second set of serial ata ports that are able to use disks as standalone units. Connect the disk and the bios should find it ok and boot. As stealth42o says you may also have to re-install your OS however this is Not always the case. I just upgraded my system and as part of the upgrade I went from an MSI k8n NeoII Fisr to an Asus an8 32 SLi deluxe and all I had to do was rip out the old drivers and re-install the new ones and everything was peachy.
Give me a minute and i will look up the specs of that board and post a solution for you (if there is one)

Well by the sound of it you are getting a post message telling you that the BIOS cannot find any harddisks. Once you get past the whole block of writing at the beginning where it tells you what processor you have, how much ram etc. You should get a second message where it should be trying to load the operating system.
I sugggest hitting "Del" when you start the machine and in the Bios general settings re-detect any hard disks / cd-roms to make sure that the Bios has picked them up. If you still have problems disconnect any cd-rom devices and see what happens. Also it might be worth changing the IDE cable between the board and drive to see if this is the problem, also try another molex power connector from the PSU to the drive as it may have a dodgy pin, and not be supplying enough power to the drive to spin it up.
Is the board new or 2nd hand?? could be a faulty IDE port if you get no joy.

I had a daft one last night. Playing Karkand, spawned at the hotel as assault with the G3 and ran up to the square which was under US control. Wiped two guys at the flag but heard a medic on the other side of the wall. Ran round whilst reloading (had only emptied 1 mag) loaded up and took aim and pulled the trigger *CLICK* wtf?? pulled again *CLICK*CLICK* OMG a jam? what the hell. pulled my pistol and took a couple of shots at the sniper who was running at me with a knife but his spec op mate gave me a nice new asshole in my forhead..

Welcome from the Spectrum and C64 generation. A generation where games were loaded by tape......."By what?" I hear you cry.....YES by tape. You remember tapes! those little square things that were around before your parents bought a CD player. Where anything up to 15 minutes was the average load time and at the last minute the tape would either Chew itself up or you would get the hideous "unable to read media" error. But all was not bad, back when I was a lad games could be bought for 3 whole British pounds, where games were produced by gamers for gamers, and not from some multi national headquaters in New York or Paris, but from a bedroom in Basingstoke. And the games! ohhh the games..... Manic Miner, Jest set willy, Defender. A list of games as long as some very long arms, admittedly some were shit, but more were great. Remember Elite? vectored graphics, little or no sound, but the sheer scope and size of the game was astounding and it all fit on a 720K floppy!!! and you know the best bit? it worked! No patches, no bug fixes, no expansion packs, just a great game.
That being said support was harder to find than a virgin in a maternity ward, and graphics were just a by product of good game play. But they worked, and gave birth (perhaps some would say sadly) to the Games companies that exist today. Games are better now than they were then, they look prettier, sound better, work faster. But at what cost? we all pay our 30 quid plus and then scream at the screen because the game does not work as advertised, and then we have to wait for patches and bug fixes and so on so forth. But at least the support is there now, at least there is someone who (seems) to care enough to release the patches and listen to the community and fix the bugs. We all bang on about EA this that and the other, but For gods sake most of the people complaining on this forum bought and played BF1942 and lets face it that had its fair share of problems, and if thats the case why in Gods name did those same people buy BF2???.
No game is EVER going to be perfect, there will always be bugs because of the nature of the PC, we all have different specs that require different things. So I say if you don't like the fact that a game will crash occasionaly or will never reach those heady heights of perfection (in your eyes) then you bought the wrong kit. Sell your PC and put the money towards an Xbox2 or PS3.
You can please all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time, but Not.............
Well you know the rest

Doesn't matter MAJ.Do the heat will not affect the ram. Even one of the heads of OCZ admitted that this was the case but they look cool so they sell better. With the heatsinks on there was something like 1fps difference in Benchmarks, I will try and find the review and post it here.

Saw this on the pczone website.
" EA's and Digital Illusions' next instalment in the Battlefield series looks like it'll be set in the future.
Hints about a new Battlefield sequel have been dropped by Dan Blackstone, senior producer on console game Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. In a recent interview with website Shacknews, Blackstone promised that "something very big" is shortly to be announced in regard to the series and went on to offer a cryptic clue about what's to be unveiled.
"One other interviewer asked this [as in, what's next for the Battlefield series] and I gave him a hint, so it's only fair that I do the same for you: 3213/3X2. Or said another way: S.R. 4588164," Blackstone said.
Subsequent to the appearance of this cryptic clue, a couple of maths geniuses have wrestled with the numbers to reveal that '3213/3X2' works out as '2142' and that 'S.R. 4588164' (S.R. standing for 'square root') also works out as '2142'. It's virtually concrete information that EA and Digital Illusions are planning Battlefield 2142 - but of course we'll have to wait for an official word."
I was always crap at maths, what do you lot think?

Umm that whole bit is a contradiction in terms dufus, u cant whine about AA being too good and infantry players should go elsewhere then say the game is good because it combines the two elements. Formulate a good argument in future.Spearhead wrote:

I think the reason why BF2 is so cool is because it COMBINES Air power and infantry. By limiting the game, you limit the fun. That is why CoD2 (IMO) is boring. ALL it is is infantry. Balance, people

By the way i like the way you outline your proposals as to why we should boycott the game and exactly what you think is wrong, you ever considered a career in politics??

I have G15 Kb and dont know what you mean by useless for FPS! it's great, ok not much of a huge improvement on your standard keyboard, biut i am sure the macro keys will come in handy for other games when i can tear myself away from BF2 that is As for the LCD, the latest version of fraps integrates itself with it to gove you and fps graph, which is handy for testing purposes and means you dont have to see those crappy numbers in the corner of the screen.
On the whole you could spend more money on a whole lot worse.

M8 Sorry to burst your bubble but Believe me heatsinks on RAM make NO difference whatsoever. It is a myth...a lie...a misnomer, call it what you will but Ram does not generate enough heat (at present) to be affected at all in any way shape or form....Heatsinks just look pretty, other than that they justa take up space and give your system another heap of metal to absorb and retain heat.washow wrote:
