i just would like to know what do you "superpilots" think infatrymen should do in order to get from flag to another without having to being blown up by bombs at every step? come on, spit it out: the ability to bomb things up without being threathened by anything sounds just good to you. it's way too clear. you don't want infantry to be able to shoot you down with aa turrets/vehicles, so what the hell should we do in order to defend ourselves from planes? you tell us...

ive noticed something about the AA. and its very interesting (not the fact thats its insanely accurate, but something else)
Hmmm, where on the box does it say "ALL OUT INFANTRY WARFARE", i mean i have it right in front of me and it says nothing like that. lets look at it closer.....GotMex? wrote:
The way I see it, this patch has shifted back the game to what it should be. I can't remember which idiot said that if we want an infantry based game we should play CS:S because that cracked me up, seeing as how BF2 really is infantry based. Planes and helicopters are no longer primary assault vehicles, but rather are going to have to be used as support and defense.

After reading through these pages, I have concluded that there are two clashing stereotypes present – On one hand, we have people that love infantry fighting: they capture the bases, fight tanks, defend flags, revive others, lay cover fire, etc. It is what they are ‘skilled’ at, and enjoy doing. On the other hand, we have those players that have moved to a different aspect of the game: air. They find enjoyment in the freedom of the air, the thrill of a dogfight, helping out the ground troops, and yes, bombing a carrier where ground soldiers are waiting for aircraft.
True
you need both sides to win. In pre-1.2 it always seemed that it was the team that had both air power and ground power that won – they worked in tandem with each other. Teamwork is what this game is about.

aint this the truth. yea it is fun to be on the ass of another jet and finally get the kill when the guy slips. i took time like a month and a half to practice flying, and i got a 8.18 kdr in a jet. how? practice, a word that seems to mean very little within the "BF2 community". the real anti-aircraft is another jet, not my fault your pilot wants to baserape and leave your ass open game. yea the skill is unbalanced, especially the intelligence. and this is comin from a guy who spent 400 out of 500 hours on the ground, only 30 in a jet-iLL*NaYmL3sS wrote:
oh and its actually fun to dogfight. you should take the time to learn to get good at a jet and try it sometime instead of bitching about jets being too powerful. the game is balanced, its just the skill thats not balanced.

Have you guys ever thought that maybe "Oh man, this AA is taking something away from these guys that they like to do" if i remember correctly from a developer interview "....there will be vehicles for everyone, from tanks to jets, so if someone wants to fly they can....complete freedom to choose...."
I enjoy flying, by no means do I "whore." I don't constantly bomb runways, or do that kind of crap. I enjoy flying, dogfighting, bombing a spotted tank and getting a "thanks, I owe you one" message from three guys that were pinned down. Now I can't even help my team without getting bombarded with missles that I can't dodge, or in any way defend myself against. It is utter bullshit how good they made these missles.
You infantrymen can defend yourselves against jets, or atleast take evasive meneuvers.
1) learn how to use the AA (yes, pre 1.2 patch it was very much possible to kill jets if you know how.)
2) learn how to get in a jet(play smart and know when and when NOT to get in that jet) and shoot down a plane really fuckin hard to do?
3) hide in a building again, really fuckin hard to do?
4) Don't keep going to the same spot waiting for a tank/helo/jet. your own dumbass fault for being the easy target
If you start to say either [1]-"how about you learn how to evade the AA missles" or [2]- "pre 1.2 patch, jets took away what I like to do, infantry"
[1]-Well first of all, I am trying to learn how to evade the new AA missles, and so far, it seems nearly unbeatable.. a few lucky times you can dodge one missle but it finds it's way back to you.
[2]-and then, Jets did no such thing. Jets weren't all over the map. AA emplacements are. You can hide in buildings. Jets can't hide behind anything but the fog, but rogue missles will pierce that fog and find your ass. if you find it too hard to hid in buildings, don't play a map with air power. Jet pilots play maps with air power because they fly. Infantry play citymaps because it's mostly infantry based. Simple as that. No Jets have nowhere to roam. Thanks.
