The BMI is just a statistical tool, meant easily depict something for as many people as possible.
And since it's a linear equation, it's pretty obvious that it has upper and lower limits, where it makes no sense any more.
There are different, non-linear BMI tables for children and infants.
No idea if such exist for tall or muscular people.

A body fat scale can give a useful clue.
But you need one with electrodes for your feet AND hands, so that the electric resistance is measured through your whole body, not only your legs.
It's just an average value of all fat, so you still can't exactly tell where most of it is deposited, and if it's brown or white fat tissue.
I guess you'd need a CT or MR scan for that.

good god, this whole "fat people have more rights" things is getting out of control.
I am a firm backer of the UK's advertising laws when it comes to false advertising, but I'm not a fan at all of the ability to regulate whether an ad causes harm or offense.
