That song actually sounds good without the singing.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. I actually played that game over the weekend.. My Girlfriend owns it, as well as a bunch of other SNES games. Brought back a bunch of early childhood memories.
And just for proof.. I tried drawing an AWSM smiley.. turned out pretty sad.. But I still took a picture of it with my phone.. lol
