The media’s pretending that the race is close because it gives them something to write about and we’re pretending it’s close because it prolongs the bloodsport and gives Hillary a chance to weaken him with attacks conservatives lack the Absolute Moral Authority to make, but the math is what it is. She’d need 60% of the delegates in every primary the rest of the way — including do-overs in Florida and Michigan, which ain’t happening — to barely overtake him. Her own advisors put her chances at 10%. Unless it turns out he was Client Number 10 in that Spitzer hooker ring, the one and only chance she has is to blow him out in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Indiana, thereby proving that the Wright thing has effectively destroyed him for the general. Anything short of that and we’re rid of her forever.

[E]ven some of Clinton’s own advisers now concede that she cannot win unless Obama is hit by a political meteor. Something that merely undermines him won’t be enough. It would have to be some development that essentially disqualifies him…

To foster doubt about Obama, Clinton supporters are using a whisper and pressure campaign to make an 11th-hour argument to party insiders that he would be a weak candidate in November despite his superior standing at the moment.

“All she has left is the electability argument,” a Democratic official said. “It’s all wrapped around: Is there something that makes him ultimately unelectable?”

But the audience for that argument, the superdelegates, will not easily overturn the will of the party’s voters. And in fact, a number of heavyweight Democrats are looking at the landscape and laying the groundwork to dissuade Clinton from trying to overturn the will of the party rank and file.

She should just use that penis & balls she thinks shes' got, man-up, and throw in the towel and her support for Obama. I don't think that'll happen though... I think her penis-envy issues are of a much larger proportion.

Hillary Clinton would rather win against Obama and lose against McCain than to lose against Obama and have him win.

Maybe... but I think she's really just a power hungry freak.  If Obama were a woman she'd still be doing the same thing.

I think Hillary will win, it's pretty even in the polls if you look, and I think she will just clinch it at the end Well I hope.

Isn't she still behind, even if you count Florida and Michigan as is?

I think she's blinded by ambition.  She's been scheming for the presidency for at least 15 years and can't accept reality.  Someone as divisive as her will never be elected President. If she stood back for a few minutes she might realize that she is only worsening the cause of her party.   But she's more concerned with her own cause.

How many of the candidates do you think are honestly, truly running because they are the number one person for the job?

They all have ambition but everyone else seem to know when to call the game.  She's grasping for some aristocratic straw in the form of these bullshit superdelegates, or even worse, some absurd gaffe, real or otherwise, like this Wright non-story.

but neither of the two will gain enough delegate votes to secure the party's nomination. Then, it'll be up to the super delegates at the convention, and who knows how they're gonna decide.

Too close to call, if you ask me.

Superdelegates that haven't already supported Clinton won't. All this superdelegate talk is basically built around the fact that so many supported her initially, which was reasonable given that she's a sitting senator and the wife of a fairly popular ex-pres, but all that was before the primaries played themselves out.

If the superdelegates overturn what should be by rights an Obama win (who at the time of the convention would likely have both the pledged delegate and popular vote leads) the backlash would be biblical. I wouldn't put it past Clinton to try it, but I assume most party leaders are sane individuals who wouldn't risk alienating the most reliable Democratic votes (African Americans, Young Voters, relatively educated/affluent voters, urbanites, and voters in the upper midwest), all of whom go for Obama by large margins.

Will she govern like she's run her campaign? By lashing out blindly, choosing advisers that can't or won't tell her when she's on the wrong path, needlessly burning bridges with potentially useful allies, and treating everything as if it's hers by rights?

Sounds familiar and I don't think the country needs more of it.

I also have straight A's in math ... graduated Summa Cum Laude from college ...

Here is my forecast:

(1)  Obama will go into the Democratic convention with more delegates than Hillary
(2)  Neither Hillary nor Obama will have enough committed delegates to win the nomination ... there are enough uncommitted superdelegates such that either can win the nomination.
(3)  The super-delegates will do "whatever they feel is in the best interests of the party" which means, they will do their best to put forth the  candidate who will win.  And, if Hillary has a better chance of beating McCain, then that's who will be nominated.

So, to say "Hillary won't win" may be mathematically correct, but politics is not about mathematics.

(Frankly, I feel Obama has the greatest upside and the greatest downside ... Hillary is a known quantity ... it all depends upon the polls at the start of the convention).

I think you misunderestimate the desire of the government to alienate the citizens, sow chaos and generally screw people over and make them lose faith in the system.
