So I've noticed there are lots of threads all about this in here and it's been pretty fun reading through them all...but I'm just curious to see (to the USA members) what you stand for and for non-US members would you want stand for. I think I'd class myself as "not from USA but would be democrat".

Registered Republican...but only because I disagree with less on the Republican platform than the Democrat platform.

A better description would be right-leaning centrist.

Registered Democrat here...but am strongly considering moving to the Green party or something more Left-leaning.  It's almost hard to tell the difference between the Dems and Repubs this day in age, since both of them are trying to grab votes from each others' constituencies.

I'm betting 80 percent of the people here don't vote or aren't registered.

Not American, and prefer not to be labeled politically but for the sake of this thread I guess my views have best been addressed by the Green Party.

I have a deep suspicion of the "old boys club" in politics, too many backroom deals made for the benefit of money instead of their constituents.  I'd like to see a lot more young people being involved in policy making instead of just getting coffee for the boss.  The Green party seems to be "fringe" enough to draw the kind of youthful enthusiasm where they think they can make a difference.

Now I say "Neither / No preference".

I don't really like any of the parties here (screw talking about US parties, I'm in the UK), but whenever we have an election here. I'll probably vote for the Conservative party. Seeing as we've had so many years of Socialism from Labour, it's time for a change.

The conservatives seem to make the most sense, they're not the religious ones you get in other countries either. They just seem to want common sense to prevail, at least, they're the closest party to want that

I'm an economist, we don't have preferences.  We are trained to critiqe the economic (or shall I say uneconomic) policies of both parties.  Democrats get a D-, Republicans get at best a D+.  But its ok, our economy will go on despite whom we elect to Washington.

Fuck em both.

Political parties create more problems than they solve.  They are always too busy with party fighting and shit talking to work together and actually get shit accomplished.
