I had the Logitech Z-5500 Speakers    (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … =SP-021-LG)        but they have a fault and after 2-3 days the fuse blows.

So I'm getting them refunded.

I am now looking for another speak system.

Has to be 5:1.

Needs to be under £200.

If is near £200 I need good reason to buy them.

Buy the Z-5500 again. You cant get better PC speakers than that, trust me. I'm sure they wont be faulty the second time.

From what I've seen from the Z series: I agree.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I actually heard them. A friend has them and he has an analog Audigy, these speakers with a digital cable should rock even more.

Wow, you can hook stereo speakers to these? Nice... Is there an adapter for other speaker systems that allows stereo speakers to be used?

Bose Blows. Unless you're in need of conveniently small speakers to deliver sounds evenly throughout the room, then yes. Otherwise gaming = Z-series.

I'm on my second set. They both stopped working. So I don't want anything to do with them.

What's the second best?

Third time lucky?  You mean you have had two seperat sets that have both broken?  Tried a different vender?  If you go with anything else, you will as you say, be settling for second best.

It's a common fault with them. The second one I got was wrapped in plastic so wasn't same set.

Ill think about it though.

Well, my experience tell me that speakers that you buy in a store is over-expensive and often they got a really bad sound.
Got two computers (technicaly one isn't mine but i use it much) on the first i got a http://www.blocket.se/vi/14321634.htm?c … amp;last=1Amplifier audio pro A-100 pretty unique 600$.

On the other i got some homemade ones, pretty big ones with a awesome sound. I would buy separate speakers and build my own chassi for them, that way you can control much, like the bass.
