Everything is Caused by Global Warming (600+ links)

Dr. John Brignell, a British engineering professor, runs a website called numberwatch. He has compiled what has to be the most complete collection of links to media stories ascribing the cause of everything under the sun to global warming.  He has already posted more than six-hundred links.

The site's stated mission is to expose all the "scares, scams, junk, panics and flummery cooked up by the media, politicians, bureaucrats and so-called scientists and others that try to confuse the public with wrong numbers"  Professor Brignell's motto is "Working to Combat Math Hysteria."

This exercise is not merely a lark to show the abject absurdity of this global warming nonsense. Brignell wrote a great book titled  Sorry Wrong Number, The Abuse of Measurement on this very subject.

*Death of the American Dream
*Atlantic Less Salty
*Atlantic More Salty
*Circumcision on the Decline
*Earth to Explode

And the List goes on, and on, and on, and on.  Click the Link to get an idea of how absurd these claims are.  Over 600 Different, and often contradicting claims that are all "caused by Global warming".  There's no way we can tell what Global Warming will do to our planet, if it exists, and yet everyone is using Climate Change to further their own political Agenda.

I'm not helping things eating burritos and beef jerky, either.  The gas I'm putting into the atmosphere could probably melt the snow outside my house.

You have snow outside your house????  I wonder if global warming caused it...

In all seriousness, I'm pretty sure this list does a pretty good job of exposing the ridiculous...ness?  of everyones claims.

Funny list.

We CAN tell what global warming will do to our planet based off what it has done before humans were here.  It's called core drilling in Antarctica, and we do it all the time to study atmospheric conditions in pre-human history.  "Global Warming" exists.  You can deny it all you want, but the fact remains that it is real.  It is debatable how much impact on the current rate of warming human existence has done.

Don't be so ignorant.

A NASA Rocket Scientist came to my Physics class the other day, and one of the things he discussed was Global warming.  He neither confirmed, nor denied it, he just said that we don't know yet, and won't know for a while.  He brought up an excellent point.  John Deere developed a computer program to see how heat affected their engines after 15 minutes of use, and where it was most stressed.  It took them 1 year to develop said program and get results.  If it took a Major Company 1 Year to find out what heat does to a tractor engine after 15 minutes, how can we already tell what would happen to THE PLANET 100 years from now, with thousands of other variables to affect it?

That graph would make much more sense if they reversed the x-axis. If you don't look carefully, you would think that it's saying the amount of ice has increased over time.

Also. Do we know that the amount of co2 we put out made it increase? If we do then why is it naturally increasing before man made pollutants?

Rush Limbaugh was laughing about that on his show last week.

Personally, I think whatever "warming trend" this earth might be in is just a natural cycle.

It's total arrogance to think that in 30 years humanity could single-handedly reverse the "global ice age" we were headed towards in the 70s.

this is just politicians playing their game, and you guys who believe the whole global warming thing are just their puppets, lemmings who follow the crowd screaming the sky is falling before jumping off the cliff with your neighbors.

On a lighter note, i wish my truck were bigger

Ice Cores = history book.

I took a class on pre-history at UCI, and they taught us how to read gas reading off the cores to look for GH gases and what not.
surprise. Global Warming is followed by Ice Ages. Its happened 7 times in the history of the planet.

Oh, so we've done nothing?

Too bad no respected scientist agrees with you (hell, even most of the skeptics say we make an impact)

Thats not what Im saying.

I'm saying that you can't just say that c02=global warming.

Nobody knows for sure, but what makes this topic especially interesting is how you get attacked personally as if you were a heretic if you're still skeptical of it.

I get so mad when people are ignorant and don't realise that we are having a great impact on the global environment, and that we are contributing to global warming! at a faster rate then ever before. And it's not only the northpole melting, it's so much more that has started to become worse and worse.. Big problems getting even bigger! How can you turn your back on that!
And even though it's hard to tell exactly whats going there is no denying that we are emitting a hell of a lot more CO2 than we should be. We have to stop right now, or it will be too late. Governments have to take action and not be setting foolish goals or saying that "technology" will solve the crysis. (Bush among others....)
And I think Americam, being such a great and democratic country, has a big responability to reduce emissions and lead the world in the right direction. Many asian countries are just too far to start making any changes. So the western world has to act.
