Background:
BF2 in a multiplayer game is different from a single player game because it has to account for differences in computer speeds and also differences in the time it takes to send information to and from the server. On a single player game, all elements in the game lag if your computer lags: your movement, bots, explosions etc. Bots won't have an added advantage because if you're lagging, then they're lagging too. But what about the multiplayer game?

Question:
In multiplayer BF2, is every action you do calculated by the server and then sent out to all the computers connected to it? What are the effects of packet loss? Is it possible that what you see on your own computer screen is actually BEHIND what the server thinks is happening?
