I'm #13 also I was surprised to see Kuwait as # 1 didn't know their currency was worth so much must be because of all that oil.

The Canadian dollar is climbing. It's currently at 92 cents, and may reach the same level as the American dollar within this year. Then we'll see who truly owns the term, 'dollar'.

The value against the $ really doesn`t mean much, who`s got the strongest economy and what makes it strong and is it well regulated.

Still rising though...

Oh and the only reason the US economy is viable is because other nations have to buy your currency to trade oil.

US dollar will stay as the currency used for commodity trading.

Lets look at the record of countries that have tried to switch to the Euro for trade...

Iraq = invaded and regime change...
NK = demonised on the world stage for possibly having nukes (why do they let Pakistan, a far less stable country have nukes then for fucks sake)...
Iran = same deal as NK...
Venezuela = they find a shitload of oil, state their wish to trade in Euros and suddenly a country that nobody gave two shits about is in US gunsights...

See a pattern here. Iraq was around 2000 (Iraqi Oil Bourse thing), NK tried about 2001 (Expressed interest in Iraq's idea), Iran 2003 (Wanted to set up a new international commodities market based on the Euro) and Venezuela 2004 (made a suggestion of the switch at OPEC)...

Soon afterward they faced condemnation, demonisation and threats from the US government.

The only reason the Cuban one is above the dollar is because they use our money down there.

If anyone thinks a countries currency conversion has anything I mean anything to do with its economy you are very much mistaken.

A good example is Japan, maybe not in a peak economic boom but still very large.
1 Japanese yen = 0.008241 $US

This entire thread and what it is meant to represent is wrong.

Yes but 1000 yen (I think, could be mistaken) is the equivalent to a dollar instead of using a decimal system...

Fiat currency systems are bullshit anyway; I'd really prefer the world's currencies have actual backing from commodities.
