Its free in Australia too, but you can pay for the Premium Account.

We have a reasonable public health system...it could be better but isn't bad, only thing is you may have to wait if your problem isn't life threatening. Basic health insurance is cheap though, starts at few bucks a week. Work gives me a basic package for free; free GP & specialist visits, or speacialist & up to 50k surgical. I went with the surgical option as I already get free GP visits through the students association at uni.
