Does anyone know of a list or site where a guy can look up what the requirements for the ranks and badges were when the game first came out? Also, perhaps a list of what was changed with each award and rank as the patches were introduced? I know i am one of the guys who worked hard for alot of the original ranks and awards, I'd just be interested to see the whole cronological working of the patches in regards to these things.
If you give me your Email Adress I send you a copy of a stats page from July 2005
go ahead and post i want to see
I know that Corperal was like 10.000 points
Sergeant was 25.000 points
And than they came with a new patch and everything was better

2nd Lt. was 200.000 [highest rank then] and Blazin.uk was the first to get it

I remember getting an unlock at 1000pts and then asking a mate "so when I do get another one", and he said "10 000".... and I didnt believe him because it seemed like a lot....
2nd Lt. didn't come out till after the 2nd or 3rd patch.
I remember the good 'ol days when sergeant was a HUGE rank to achieve. Lol!!
Someone post the old rank reqs!!

I'll post when I get home, (Me being a nerd printed em all out at the start of the game...)
I liked the old ranks better, They should have kept them the same but decreased 2nd lt to 100k and then added the new ones every 50k after that.
Wasn't the army medals' requirement like 5,000 hours?

SICK
WHO COULD COMMAND FOR 3000 HOURS!
I remember when that patch came out. I ranked up about 3 or 4 times on the server. I thought something was up with the server.
Ever since then i've considered all the ranks from Private to Gunnery Sergeant as pretty worthless, because i think thats what i ended up ranking up to.
And then there was the long long time being a First Sergeant. I thought that would be my last promotion, because i needed all the points i'd gained so far all over again. But now i'm a 2nd Lieutenant, halfway to becoming a 1st Lieutenant.

Rank still means something, but I think it's good that they changed the award specs. Seriously, 1000 hours in all vehicles is just crazy. No-one would get all the rewards that way and I think EA saw that some people would like to have all of them...
Back when the gold bar was a status symbol.

I agree rank does mean something, it all depends on how the player spreads his time out durig playing. Obviously someone who only plays to get points, doesnt have experince with the kits. And regarding the awards being as high as they use to be, you know personally....maybe people werent suppose to have every rank and all expert. Maybe it was that way for a reason, showing players differnt strengths, and specialtes.TigerXtrm wrote:

The old ranks were why I played unranked for a very long time before creating my new account. That and I was also to lazy to patch to 1.03.
I wish I was playing for that long. Oddly, I've had BF2 since before EF came out, but I didn't have a comp that could play it til 2142 came out
I was the same had the game for ages but could not run it until much latter. It's crazy to think the awards still take a long time ( which I like ) but they used to be so much more, it just astounds me.
that was when you could jump and shoot at the same time and the tanks really kicked ass along with the sniping pkm and the black hawk was a flying fortress
