Just a program that allows you to talk. Join a channel and talk to people from BF2s and other places. Just like MSN and xfire.

google or Mirc.com for it, theres a few different types , noname script, gamers irc, mirc. its an alright little chat program.
If you are in a clan or have some buddies who use irc find out what server they are on and what channel they are in, you can also spam the room with annoying scripts that show your distaste in music when you listen to mp3s.

also your IP shows up when you connect to channels (unless you mask it) but thats nothing major, websites can get more information anyway. the Moderators on here can probably see everyones IP

if you click on them without thinking 1st you could be compromising your computer, before you know it the trojan makes it look like you are spreading the link

just kind of a plug in that when you play a tune it shows it in irc what you are listening to (Like the whole world is actually bothered) you can also get it to show when you are joining a server using HLSW or ASE or something.
