Yeah, that guy has freakishly large hands.
an invisible string or rubber band passes through the center of the card, so it makes it look like its flying.
Typically the thread is affixed to the back of the playing card via a tiny bit of wax, this way the magician can stick it to any playing card, and also can scrape off the wax with a fingernail to give to standerby's to prove that it is just a regular old playing card. I was in the same shop, bought the same magic trick and can now perform that flawlessly. ACtually, wuite better than him.
