Vista Problem with 2142

I am getting a ton of artifacting in the game that I didn't get in XP. It drives me insane. I know others run 2142 with vista just fine. Anybody have this problem? Here are a few pictures. Once I get into the game its pretty ok except for small artifacts and my crosshairs come and go.

I have the following rig:

Vista Ultimate X64
AMD x2 3800
asus a8n-sli
2 gigs ram
xfx 6800gs
2 raptors in raid 0

I have installed latest nvidia drivers for vista and have ran bf2142 with aero glass turned off in Vista and its still the same.

So this only began when vista went in? Does other games work? Bf2 e.g You runing the RTM of vista?

It is RTM straight from msdn download.

The only other game I have tried so far is star wars galaxies and that works fine.

And yeah, only started after I installed Vista. Works fine in XP

Try bf2 (assuming you have it) and as many other games as you can untill you get sick of it, if there all working fine then its safe to assume its soley a 2142 issue. Try reinstalling the game mate, that more often than not fixes all problems to be honest..... I would be suprised if the problem continues after that, sometimes things get currupted, for seemingly no reason what so ever.

I already reinstalled 2142 and patched.

I will install bf2 and see if it looks the same.

I also installed the latest video drivers.

but did you try OTHER versions of the gfx driver?
like, the early v90's or the late v80's?

The only drivers nvidia offers are the forceware 95 drivers for vista

Do you have a link to an older version of nvidia drivers for vista?

yes.. just dont download the modified INF files and you'll be fine.

I've no idea if it'll fix the issue, but gfx issues imo are usually fixed by playing around with the gfx drivers first....

but then, I'm no BF2142 / Vista expert...

I downloaded the oldest whql signed version of the drivers and when vista boots I just get a black screen.

Vista as of now does not work well with some games. Many of the being games involving PB. There are many application incompatibilities right now. It is also crazy annoying with all the "approvals" it ask for. (I know it security reasons ... but damn). But the ultimate reason I am not using it now on my primary is the poor driver support.

pb stuff just requires you to run bf as an admin

That driver worked. It isn't available at nvidia's site but if you grab it from that link it should work.
