Hm, every day there are at least three-four new topics about:

How can I run BF2 in high settings?

Which GPU should I take to run BF2 in high settings?

Which CPU should I take to run BF2 in high settings?

How much RAM do I need to run BF2 in high settings?

So I think, fellow techfreaks, to make it easier for technoobs to find an answer let´s put all your recommended stuff in just one topic.

Well here´s mine for ultrahigh, high and average:

for ultrahigh settings I would say:
CPU: AMD64 4000+ or higher
GPU PCI-E: 2x Nvidia 7900GTX 512MB or ATI X1900XT Crossfire
RAM: 4096 MB
resolution: 1900 x 1600 (19" LCD)
AA full (driver settings)
AF full (driver settings)
BF2 graphics options: everything on high

for high settings I would say:
CPU: AMD64 3800+ or higher
GPU PCI-E: 1x Nvidia 7900 GT 256MB or ATI X1800
GPU AGP: 1x Nvidia 7800GS 256MB, 6800 ULTRA 256MB
RAM: 2048 MB or higher
resolution: 1280 x 1024 (19" CRT)
AA 8x
AF 4x
BF2 graphics options: everything on high

for average settings I would say:
CPU: AMD64 3200+ or higher
GPU AGP: 1x Nvidia 6800GT 256MB, 6600GT 256MB, FX5950ULTRA, ATI X800, X850XT
GPU PCI-E: 1x Nvidia 7600GT 256MB, 6600GT 256 MB
RAM: 1024 MB or higher
resolution: 1024 x 768 (17" CT)
AA: 4x
AF: off
BF2 graphics options: everthing on high, expect light on medium, shadows on medium

This are my recommended specs, feel free to post yours.
sidenote: I´ve only named AMD CPUs because Im not too familiar with Intel stuff, further, those specs are only a hint, thats why I have put "or higher" behind everything. I have four similar rigs atm, my components are bright and this is only my exp. with those PCs.

I would like some help with my pc (by the way iam a complete pc nub lol) here is my system :-

i have to run the game in low settings or when arty goes off it laggs and stutters any ideas .

Hey man, your videocard 7300GS is crap!!! Replace it with an 7600GT at least or for much more bang a single 7900GT!!!

Hmm.. Hope this is the relatively right place for this.
I'm getting this setup in about a week and hope I'll be able to run BF2 on atleast slightly better then medium quality...

GFX: Geforce 7600 GT 512MB PCI Express x16
CPU: (Socket AM2) AMD Athlon X2 3800+
RAM: Corsair 2GB (1GB x2) PC6400 DDR2/800 Dual Channel Memory
MoBo: GigaByte GA-M55SLI-S4 nForce4 SLI Chipset DDR2/800 SATA 16x PCI-Express

I've been told it will run well on BF2, but just want a second opinion...

Hi Drac2gunz, welcome to the forums.

Your new systems will run BF2 is high settings, I will say, rise everthing to the max, expect of AA and AF. It´s always trial and error, maybe lower shadows and lights to medium, but all in all, I think a high setting will fit with average FPS of 50-70.

nope.

memory is not to be replaced with anything besides more memory!!!

Especially if you got a SLI- or Crossfire rig, the maps load much more faster. But thb, 2048 MBs are enough for high settings in this game with a highend GPU (7900GT 7900GTX X1900XT etc).

hm, your CPU is average (it´s clocked 2.2 right?), your RAM is pretty ok and also your GPU seems fine.

I would try high settings, without AA, AF, shadows and lights on medium. Resolution 1200 x 1024 (depending on your monitor). Should give you 50-60 FPS...

I have an AMD 3200+ O/C to 2.6
BFG 7800 GS O/C to 430/1300
RAM 1.5 Gigs
I run BF2 with everything on high at 1024x768, AF 4X, AA 8X. With fraps i'm getting A steady 55-65 fps. Everything runs smooth and nice. What is the lowest fps someone can play with before getting pissed off and throwing the computer out the window. I would like to turn the resolution up but would sacrifice FPS. Don't know if it is worth it. Any answers.

I have a P4 3.0, a 6800GS, set at 1280x1024, everything maxed, and I get 45ish fps.

Anything over 30 fps, the human eye cannot detect. Do not listen to people telling you to get SLI, 4 Gigs of RAM, and super high end cards.

You just need

1) an average processor ($200US)
2) a little above average video card ($200US)
3) 2 Gigs of RAM to max out everything. (various prices depending on manufacturer...about $150US)
