I was just wondering if this was a good Gaming laptop.

Is the prosessor too slow?

If it is a bad gaming laptop, please post a link to a better one in the same price range

Uhh, processor isn't your biggest problem, you have onboard graphics.

Laptop's aren't for gaming, if you do want one, and get nice framerates as well, well, you could get yourself an Alienware thing, but they are waayyyy too expensive if you ask me, a desktop computer is forever the best gaming thing you can get.

If you want it to be small and mobile, try informing about so called "Barebone" pc's, they are way smaller than normal PC cases, and can hold all good stuff like a normal PC has, unlike a laptop.

If you get a nice small TFT screen with it, you are good to go!

I'm assuming he needs a laptop for other reasons so the whole "desktops are better than laptops" is moot.

And that alienware is sweet, but a touch outside his price range I think

I can understand, but than I'd suggest him to buy a cheapass laptop to do things other than gaming, and stick to a normal desktop computer for gaming, that way it's still cheaper, if you need a laptop for school/work you're better of with a cheap one. And yes, Alienware is way too expensive as I said, too bad though, they really are fast!

In my humble opinion I'd say the concept of a "gaming laptop" is an oxymoron. Can't upgrade, less powerful components, costs more, you have to attach separate input devices to make it viable for gaming (the onboard touchpad is a no-go and laptop keyboards can be tricky)...it really has a low bang:buck ratio. If you want to play games, I'd say you need to get yourself a desktop.
