Zune. Zen/June?
Who comes up with the crap I hear you ask>?
Timelord, assuming you have something to do with that site, could you do something to make the articles more ledgeble? Like make the background for the articles white, with black text or something. They're really hard to read as they are right now.
wow theres tons of post about stories coming from that website
Sounds more like a PSP rival than an iPod rival. The iPod has already well-established its ground as 'the' MP3 player. It's got looks, it's the hip thing to have (most people want the coolest MP3 player that's the most popular, that would be the iPod), and its pretty damn good. The Zune sounds good too but I think it's either gonna be a PSP rival or it will end up like the Steam Friends system; released way too late while their competitors (iPod, XFire) took the major ground. Much like how Windows has the majority for OSes on computers, the iPod has the majority of the MP3 player ground, and XFire basically took the Friends system's place and then some.
I disagree, the MP3 player market is nothing like the OS market, as despite all the brand whores, there are still a large amount of other companies that make MP3 players, and also a lot of people that do not buy an MP3 player based on the brand. I would hardly say that the iPod was 'pretty damn good' either. It's merely the most succesfull and best hear of, but is by no stretch of the imagination a superior product. Inferior would probably be a better word.ExecutionerStyle wrote:

It still has a huge hold though. I seen maybe 10 people using an MP3 player other than some form of iPod.
The reason Apple and its iPod is so successful, it's because they made the process simple, from iTune (easy to buy music), to iTune (easy to play music), there is only a few steps.
Personaly, the fact that you have to throw away your iPod after your battery dies is a big turn down.

yeah, and Ipods are way to expensive. I bought an mp3 player to play music and nothing else. So why spend $200 for 1GB ipod when I could get 40GB for less than $200 of another brand that is still reliable.
If you read one story below that one they have something about AMD buying out (merging) with ATI.

it will never kill the ipod, it will never become so much a part of pop culture that the ipod has. ipod is like the sony walkman, even though its the brands own player the word ipod will always be used to describe all mp3 players. this my friends...is the ipod generation!
And so comes the reason why I would get a zune. Its better AND I don't have to associate myself with fan boys.THA wrote:

What for? Send it back and have them put in a replacement. It costs $, but beats throwing it away....Buzerk1 wrote:

I have a 30GB Ipod Vid. I'll be damned if I throw it away after I kill the battery
Your numbers are way off.The_Mob_Returns wrote:

The 30GB Ipod Videos are 250$ now. I think the 60's are 300, and the 80's maybe 350/400?
The 1GB's are sub 100$, and the 4GB's are 200$.
With all things considered, I think the 30GB Video Ipod is the best buy on the market with the exception of its ridiculously short battery life, but thats fixed easily by a wall adapter/car charger. And I rarely watch movies on it anywhere but a car or inside a room. If I keep the backlight off, it'll play music for prolly 10 hours. Good enough for me considering I can hold 4 seasons of Family Guy, as well as my entire music collection (~10 gigs) on it, and still have room to spare.
Meh, I'm usually a big Microsoft fan, but I'm not impressed by the Zune. It has wireless BUT only between 2 zunes. You can share music BUT only for 3 days. And it's fairly limited to what types of videos you can watch, WMV only I think, (FFS what if I want to watch some BF2 vids?).
I don't care for the ipod much either though. I'd rather get a music cell phone can play music and you'll always have it with you. Yea they only hold a few GB, but that's plenty for me.

Except for the fact when you run your phone battery dead listening to music, you won't be receiving callsGreenspan wrote:

Interesting. Also, did you know that Microsoft never said and dosen't think about zune as an ipod killer. Its just normal people who made up that phrase for it.Greenspan wrote:
