just so u kno
the pilot dosent have hellfire missles
it has hydra rockets
hellfire missles would destroy the entire enemy team if they were on a chopper
thats why they are on a bomber, so u cant camp from halfway across the map and blow up ever peice of armor on the enemy team
also the hellfire missles are guided unlike the hydra rockets which are dumbfire

the hellfire rockets are the one the gunner uses...in BF2 they are called TV guided because thats just what they are

but they still aren't really guided; it's just that they move a bit.

I have to say pilot because im real good and when im the gunner the pilot is usually shit. i do envy my gunner when i am the pilot though because they can get 30+ kills with few deaths, so it all depends on if i have a good pilot or not

the hellfire missles are lazer guided missles

I can do well in both seats, but I am insanely angry when my gunner doesn't shoot! Especially when I invite them to my squad and they still don't shoot when I tell them the exact direction to shoot in over VoIP.  The cardinal rule with the Havok is to shoot at the flag area before you can see targets because the anti-matter "wah halla bah halla ma lawa" cannon decimates infantry and transport vehicles.

If I have a decent to good pilot we will trade places after every death.

If I have an awesome pilot I will stay in the gunner seat and own the other team with TV missiles. Once the team is stuck on the carrier it is over.  Jets, helicopters and boats will not be allowed to get 100 metres away from it.

Total jets shot out of the sky with TV missiles so far: 13

My favourite attack helicopter to manouevre is the Super Cobra, followed by the Z-10, then the Havok.  My favourite to get driver points however is the Havok because the gunner doesn't need to have much skill to use those cannons.

Most of the unknown gunners (that I have never played with before) that I have piloted around constantly overheat their guns especially in the Super Cobra and Z-10, they don't lead the targets properly and don't watch where the rounds are actually landing until much closer.  When moving forward and especially when you are shooting laterally (sideways) you must shoot well ahead of the target. Moving backwards? Shoot above the target's head.  Moving sideways? Lead the target in the opposite direction that you are going (strafing left, aim to the right of the target.)

actually, my good sir, it is considered that the "TV guided missile" on a BF2 attack heli is a "hellfire" (or similar counterpart). admittedly, the real AGM-114 is not remote-controlled, it is simply passive-TV guided (locks onto a target with high contrast of the right size then homes in on it) (a variant exists that is laser guided, although most helicopters have no active laser designator, so it relys on handoff)

as for the fighter-bomber, they use a laser-guided missle similiar to the Kh-29 (NATO designation AS-14 i belive). While the US has nothing quite so similar, I assume it is merely a matter of game balance. (mavericks are fairly similar, although they are anonomous once launched.)

i agree, however, that the pilot has in his arsenel "Hydra" unguided rockets. (again, or their similarity, the soviet B-8)

In real it has hellfire rockets and the pilots fires them. The pilot only have to LOOK at the target and BOOM!

Pilot, unless its the havok (as CackNBallz said, you dont need much skill with the guns, which is good as i dont have much lol) but i find a decent gunner can get about 6 kills just from me spinning around a base once

No.

The "TV guided missiles" on the Cobra are Hellfire missiles. The "laser guided missiles" on the F-15 are Mavericks.

I like gunner seat more. (just because I suck in flying ) The thing is good gunner can't do well without a good pilot, and a good pilot can't be succesful without a skilled gunner. Teamwork FTW!

I love being in the gunner seat because my friend is an excellent pilot and knows how to line me up for TV rocket shots, but I def. have to give props to all you pilots out there because without you guys, we would just spin in circles, or just have one hell of a time getting a good angle to make a shot.  The only chopper I can fly is the Black Hawk which I just use as a big gun ship.  Load up the sides and hover, taking out everything.  But yea, as far as attack choppers, both roles are important, I just like to be lazy and blow crap up.

Real life choppers rarely use the TV guided missile though, they use laser guided.

Like piloting, unsless I have some shitass not know anything gunner who doesnt even use the missile.  Ive had people try to take out tanks with the chain gun on z-10 and ah-1z

ive accepted the fact that most bf2 players are idiots so i do a slow dive at a tank to allow my gunner to TV him and if he decides 2 put 20mm rounds into it i will instead unload 8 hydra rockets into the tank
a mavirick missle is TV guided
a hellfire missle is lazer guided, the new hell fire missles are fire and forget but the ones on the AH1Z and the AH64 are lazer guided hell fire missles that can be fired all at once using different codes for each missle so they do not get confused by the lazer and all attack the same target
go watch the Military Channel, it usualy has alot of these things on it

Yeah, real choppers rarely use TV guided missiles even though they exist....
