* Paul, perhaps realizing how much he f*cked his career, sent an elaborate apology to Dave, and another to Mike.
* Too late, though. David Kotkin, inventor of the controller in question has fired Ocean Marketing and posted a public apology. “We apologize for our poor representation from Ocean Marketing. We wanted to give Paul a chance. He was rough around the edges, but he had drive and enthusiasm. However his behavior was unprovoked, unnecessary, and unforgivable. We are no longer represented by Ocean Marketing.”
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how someone ruins their entire career in real time.

In the comments of this article, you can see what Dave as "dabu" has to say about how things are now:

I didn't know the cast of The Jersey Shore made game controllers.......................bro.
hahaha "have a good day, Dan." best part
jesus that thing looks horrible.
Gotta be intentional, I'd say the guy was trying to be firedpirana6 wrote:

I read the entire exchange on the OP link. I used to work with people who had the same attitude as this Ocean Marketing guy. Insulting, patronizing and didn't know when to shut up; kept inflating their imaginary list of friends and contacts to unbelievable proportions.
It's getting attention to the... product... whatever it is... so it's kind of a marketing win when you think about it.
Either way, it's sad that people like this exist.

Dunno, I'm less likely to buy it now if it means they'd tell me to f*#$ off if the thing breaks before its time.
Guy was a prick but all these internet faux activists are being silly personally attacking this guy and his family. It's pricks, pricks everywhere. Good thing I'm not part of, and never will be, of that shit. Horrible miserable people all round.
Apart from being extremely rude and unhelpful what did this guy do wrong, did he steal customers money? Shouldn't that be a police matter then? Funny how everyone is calling him a bully, whilst simultaneously harassing him and his family, over a customer service issue for a fucking controller.
This whole thing is fucking retarded, I'm going home

I wouldn't want anything to do with his family, tbh. But if I was dealing with the same stuff crap, I wouldn't mind dropping in a ditto complaint.Mekstizzle wrote:

Lesson 1: Prick around on the internet and it may get chopped off.
Lesson 2:
1. Be a prick to your customers.
2. Enjoy free publicity.
3. ...
4. Profit!
e: Maybe all the people this guy knows in high places can get him another job.

inane little opines
I don't know what he's complaining about. His intricate connections at the Pentagon should shut this troublesome customer up. If not, he can always have a sit down chat with his old pal Oprah (they go way back, you know).Shocking wrote:

I think Internet vigilantism can easily be abused and I object to Internet tough guys targeting this guy's family regardless of whether it was the "fault" of Christoforo himself. I also think that once it's had its effect people should back off. This guy's marketing career is over, he brought that on himself, there's no reason to ruin his life over it.
Guy's a dick, guy's had his comeuppance. Move on.

But I thought he's too important of a Bostonian to truly be affected by internet vigilantism. The graceful thing to do would be to back off, but there's no reasoning with the hive mind until it gets bored.
