Slow Install Times

Yo.

I've got a DVD version of the game, and have origin installed. I have the disc in the drive, and ran autorun. Now in origin, it says downloading BF3. From here I've beeen lead to believe that it means downloading files from the disc. It is taking forever.

Did anyone else have similar issues? How did you get around it?

Patience

Copy the CD files to your PC if you have the room. Next time you need it to install it will be quite a bit quicker.

Nah its all good now. For some reason it wouldnt start copying the files over to start the install.

Now, installing the 475mb update, it was downloading at 4mbps... dunno how that works . Slowed down to ~1.5-2mbps. noice.

I don't know what the hell it was but it picked up about 10mins ago. Now installing the update.

Mine went at about 10mb a second until about 47-48% slowed to 5mb for a minute, then picked up again. Fantastic, hastle free install I thought.

I had the same problemo, first i thought the serial was assigned a digital download somehow but then i found this "fix" where you update origin to 8.3.2.:

also i right clicked on the shortcut for Origin selected "run as admin"

game is installing off the dvds now..
