I'm pretty stoked that they stole the Opera interface. That was why I switched to Opera - it sounds dumb but FF3 was really ugly in comparison. However, Opera fails to work with websites every so often, so I might switch back. Not sure what to do now. I love Opera but it's not without its problems.
It's really quite sad that Mozilla have resorted to "borrowing" all the new ideas from other browsers because they have no imagination of their own.

Mozilla has reached it's peak with development. The stuff they've come up with over the last year has been pretty poor.
Actually - if you go into the betas of both opera and FF - FF did it first - Opera simply have a quicker release cycle - they're up to 11 now i think. There was a major shitstorm on g.

Did some more research - the firefox button was conceived in Sep 09

Wasn't really referring to that. Was referring to tab stacking, speed dial, password manager. Even tabs were used properly in Opera (I understand there were earlier browser versions like iBrowse and NetCaptor were first, but Opera was a major contender at that point).

Also, fact is that Opera 11 that was released back in December and STILL rapes FF4 in ALL speed tests really shows are Mozilla are struggling to find their footing now.

I cannot understand how 4 months down the line of development and seeing the competition, FF4 fails to impress in absolutely every way.

Don't get me wrong, I will still use it as a browser and it works pretty well, but it's disappointing to see such a "hyped" release to fail big time when it comes to facts and figures (and usability!!!).

I've decided to keep using Opera, but I'll just find it less painful when using FF on sites Opera doesn't like.

Out of pure curiosity, which sites don't work for you in Opera?

Off the top of my head I can't think of any. But usually it's little things that don't load properly, like videos, or my banks card payment approval system.

Usually I've found that some banks don't work in any browser but IE because of what they use to code the system. I believe FF also bends the browsing standards to allow the shitty sites to work properly. Not really a browser fault but a website fault.

Annoying, nonetheless.

Thought i'd give opera a wirl - see what it's really got going for it.

Few notes:
- It opens quickly
- I like the sidebar, i'd find it very useful

https://i.imgur.com/GCtLa.png

- I like the insta-go to page like chrome has - where you type in a site you've been to - for example fa then enter will go to facebook.
- I like how like chrome again - it searches straight away for things it doesn't know.

I think i'll play around with it just a tad more. I'm liking it so far.

Can't open bookmarks in a new tab,
Google Wave doesn't work (I know that isn't opera's fault, but it's essential for me),

back to FF

FF doesn't have the awesome bar as awesome as chrome/opera

back to chrome

Fireshot is a good screenshot addon for both chrome and FF.

It let's you scroll capture and has a descent editor built in.

Oh also, it crashes a lot. I'm talking like once a day. Or is that just for me?

Kind of related: The "full" version of Microsoft Outlook Exchange is disabled in anything other than IE. Pretty annoying, I don't know if there's a valid reason for it.

Zimmer do you know if Opera has a plugin like this (BBcode), or Fireshot.. or is it possible to integrate them with Opera?

I can get by without fireshot, zscreen is good enough for screenshots (just no built in editor). However I am really fond of the bbcode plugin. I thought I read once that it was possible to use FF plugins with other browsers.

I'm seriously considering switching back to FF from Chrome, but my CR-48 is keeping me from switching.  Being able to sync bookmarks and other stuff is a great service.

I really hate the thing with the URLs in the bottom left.

Any way to get rid of it?
