I don't thinks its paranoia. Its a mathmatical certainty we as a species will become extinct. It's not a great stretch to imagine delaying the aging process would lead to overpopulation and then to war.dayarath wrote:

Meaning faster advancement in science.That's a bit paranoid.with the current ability of humans to kill other humans we'd be even faster in wiping ourselves out of existence. Overpopulation is already a problem, conflicts would arise over habitable land. these will be fought with more and more brutality, until one decides to launch a nuke. Then it's over, but it would probably be the best for the whole universe in terms of evolution....

Contrary to what people tell you there's more than enough room for everyone to live on this planet. It completely depends on how much the commercial sector can provide, and that's constantly improving in efficiency aswell.
A city the size of new york with all it's citizens cared for properly would seem completely impossible and unimaginable to people ~70-100 years ago. Biological improvements aren't exactly going exponentially faster than other fields of research.
Furthermore, if the standard of living increases usually the birth rate decreases, to such an extent that most of the western world has been going into the negative on that lately.
Anyhow, conflict today is more caused by differences in cultures and opinions than rows over living space. That's usually just an easily understandable excuse to cross the border and chop eachother's heads off.
