How many nuclear explosions have occured on Earth? You may be surprised. Watch this video by artist Isao Hashimoto and listen to the music. Patterns will soon emerge. Swarms of explosions with several countries setting off bombs in quick sucession will be followed by periods of calm. At times it is almost melodic. Eerily so. You soon find yourself wondering what was going on in the world to cause the periods of silence ... and of music.
A little bit old but I did not see it posted.

8 test programs with a total of 188 "Shots" at the Nevada site from the '70's, all underground.
Couldn't find anything for New Mexico.

I remember all those French tests in the south Pacific in the 90s. NZ was protesting like a motherfucker, then the French sent a bunch of spies over to sink a Greenpeace ship in NZ waters - which they did and were promptly caught by NZ Police. What followed was France treating NZ like shit until we gave their agents a soft sentence and expelled them to a French-controlled island where they were promptly "rescued" by the French government. Pretty embarrassing for the French.

This has always been a source of contention for me in regards to federal US government. Check out how much they nuked the western US. Oooh, sure makes me feel loyal, getting all that attention.

Don't forget that the early tests went along something like this:

Since then though, Nevada has been the a main choice:
