Both are said to be great centers of culture and entertainment so which would you rather live in?

I say NY because I would be a few minutes away from NJ. \o/

The one I live in? I'd rather live in neither though.

depends on the specific areas really...

but overall, london. more culture and diversity, i think. not quite so much depravity and crass society. rough areas, yes... but i'd hesitate to say that it has the same 'image' as the new york projects and ghettos.

I voted London, NYC is probably better but London does not have the same proximity to New Jersey.

Never been NYC, seems kinda inconvenient that all the main stuff is on an island between two rivers. Then you have New Jersey...

I still voted NYC though, I know what London is, would be boring to vote London. I think it'd be quite fun owning some ridiculously expensive apartment on a skyscraper in Manhattan. But as for commuting in everyday living a regular life, that would be annoying

I voted NYC, strikes me as more interesting. I didn't like London, spent a few days there and it was OK - but you guys get ripped off on everything there in England. No thanks. I ain't ever leaving Vienna (or at least Austria), though. No chance. As a city, Vienna is the coolest place there is.

I live in London, but would love to move to New York.

Both are awesome, pretty much everything you can think of is available in both but I've been in London all my life and New York is, well new (to me) and the people I met when I went last year were really nice and loved it that I had an English accent for some reason.

I don't know if I would want to live there forever, but for a few years at least.

London. Been to both and new york is just too cramped, fast paced, unhealthy and grotty.

Probably New York. That's mostly because I don't know New York as well as London, and I like new places. Plus New York is fucking awesome.

I'm the other way, I don't know how people can live in out of the way places with no shops and what have you...

New York City is alright. The culture and that is certainly there for the taking. However, it is rather easy to confine oneself in an outer borough, living a New York experience quite different from the ones in the magazines and films. Living in Brooklyn is completely different from living in Manhattan. There is just less exposure the trendiness and art here.

Honestly, I think people make this place out to be more than it is. There are much more interesting and older, more culturally rich cities around the world.
