protip: most console players don't use mics, and those that do, most don't have stereo headsets. Most just rely on the TV speakers.

Speaking of situational awareness, anyone play using war tapes? Doesn't seem to work well with 3D sound.

Just played a couple rounds of infantry.

Infantry sucks, half the time it's camping in a bottleneck and boring as hell. If you try moving around or past the bottlenecks and be aggressive you get mowed down by all types of campers (snipers, lmg etc). Play some infantry rounds on Operation Metro or Grand Bazaar and you will know what I'm talking about. It's not like in bf2 where pushing past bottlenecks and campers was easier and made the game more open ended and fun.

Yeah, I'm gonna give Hi-Fi a try. Got dog-tag knifed once. Hate that.

On Gears, I could hear enemy grunts in other rooms and know the direction, someone trying to retro me from behind, etc. Hoping BF3 has a setting for that kind of 3D sound.

origin can fucking fuck off. every time i start a game it gives me "press shift + f1 to launch origin in-game".

even when i uncheck it in the origin settings it does it everytime... and, half of the time it does this, it makes my game freeze and crash during start-up. straight back to desktop for origin to SPAM ME again. i don't even use the fucking origin in-game because it's unoptimized as shit and even basic chat and browser windows lag. just stop trying to be steam and let me fucking play.
