I've been going though a bunch of YouTube Videos and stuff, but wanted to know if you guys have a good resource on learning pool?
Don't get the 8 ball in the wrong pocket or early.

A lot of it is luck, but you'll eventually get skilled in knowing where your shots will land. That's how it is for me, atleast.

best way to learn is just playing it over and over again. get some mates together and just play in a bar somewhere. beer helps. don't bother buying cues or anything like that until you get good.

Hit the point on the ball that is furthest from the pocket.
Aim with the stick, drink a lot, never agree to play for money.

Once I wasn't paying attention and I put my stick in one of the pockets and i sprained my stick.

No, srsly, it depends on what you need to work on. For me, it was my stroke, so I practiced getting it straight. If you have problems with tactics, play pool sims.

Grip the stick in a fist (not a thumbs up which alot of starters do). And watch your wrist. Make sure your cue doesn't change height they you pull and hit. Other than that, you have to experiment and gain experience.
Place your hand which you are placing the stick on right behind the white ball. Don't place it far back... Your shots will be much more accurate and you have much more power that way.
As with anything else: practice. Get the hang of how/where to hit the cue ball, what hitting it in different places does, how to use spin, how to bounce it off walls or other balls to get what you want, etc.
Try not to lean.

My Dad is the best player I have ever seen irl (the kind that you'd be lucky to even get to shoot once against). He never plays for money. He might play you for a beer though .Little BaBy JESUS wrote:
