Fucking hell I've found a million trails and not one single deer.

I wander around following trails, then nothing. So I go around and come across old abandoned trials, and then criss-crossing trails. It's giving me the shits.

1. Try your best to find 3 tracking signals from the same animal - this makes your tracking more accurate
2. Newer clues are the ones with smaller circles or stronger lines on the GPS, if you are getting conflicting tracking info from the same animal, go with the newest trail
3. When you start to get a very small circle and narrow possible direction of the deer, walk or crouch dont run. Use the caller and try to find audio signals
4. When you see a deer wait till its not moving / moving slowly. Aim for the body or neck. There is NO bullet drop

Thanks bennis that helped alot.

That was what I was having to put up with.

The three markers you see in front of me were for three different deer.

I managed to follow one into a clearing and shot it. It ran off though. I thought I hit it for sure. Went over and found blood splatter. So now I'm following what I think is an injured deer. lol

I'll +1 you when I can.

Bah, when I injure them I just slowly follow to a place where I can get a shot and then call them in so you at least know where they are. I'm quite lazy since I began playing: I used to follow the tracks and piles of shit in order to find the animals, but now I've just been really using the caller until I get a response and luring that mofo in nice and close and then popping a cap in it.

i chased this bitch for three god damn hours, with 3 separate shots on him >.< the last of which killed him obviously

Finally got one. I bagged me a female deer. It was strange though because I shot and hit it, it ran for a little and collapsed between some bushes.

I wasn't sure if it had then run off so shot again. Went over and it read as two body shots. lol

Got another 2 only 40 mins after my other kill

This guy was funny, I was in long grass and couldn't see him if I went prone so had to shoot him from crouch, I missed.
He ran round in circles on this hill and he must of fell over
I then put one in him and got the kill

It always says connecting in that emo launcher.... never making any progress...

when you're at the inventory screen just after the game launches, there's an ammo section in inventory lists

drag the ammo to your "backpack" and from there into the slot next to your gun
