My friend is bringing his laptop over tomorrow which he plays COD 4 on. My router only has one ethernet port on it. I have 2 ethernet cables. Is there anyway for us to both play online?

You can do a network bridge. You need two NIC's and a spare cable. There are several guides around the net, do some Google'ing on wired network bridge.

Basically, the internet goes to your PC and then your PC acts as a hub and distributes it to other PC's connected to yours. It's simple to do, I've done it several times.

Nice one!

Do you know if this will work from XP to Vista off hand?

Yarp.

But it's a PITA to make it work on Vista. Vista tries to automatically make your network work, so it sucks if you have to do manual junk.
