The Chinese language Economic Daily News is reporting that Pegatron, an OEM subsidiary of ASUS, has won the order from Microsoft to assemble the Xbox 360 with Blu-ray Disc ROM drive -- shipments are expected to being in Q3 of this year. Now come on Microsoft, just come clean on the matter, we won't tell anyone.

I like the 360 but who didn't see this coming? I mean come on. They purposely made an external HD-DVD drive so if blu-ray did win they would not be stuck with HD-DVD 360. If this is true. I'll be selling my 360 to get the new one. By then M$ should have the new 65nm GPU/CPU combo out for the 360.

So is this think external like HD-DVD or is it internal
Well if you want to try and make it out from the news article it sounds like its going to be built in. If you look at it from a history stand point it will probably be external. Ether way I will be buying a new one with both 65nm GPU and CPU w/ HDMI.GR34 wrote:

There are multiple companies behind Blu-ray. Although Sony is probably the major contributor to the whole project, it does not own it all by itself and doesn't determine who gets to use it and who doesn't.Ned_Z wrote:
